TNL Holiday Wish Lists 2007 - Get Gifts, Help Out

It's time to start updating your Amazon Wish Lists in preparation for the holiday season. Just like last year, post a link to your list here and browse through everyone else's. Amazon makes it easy to find out what your Internet buddies and real-life friends have their hearts set on, and the site even tracks what other users bought, so no one ends up with too many of the same thing. It's even smart enough to keep you in the dark about what's been bought, by showing you the complete list (by default) while your friends see only what's left to buy (by default).

Add to this all the free shipping offers and other fantastic functionality of Amazon, which is probably the most trusted and feature-rich merchant on the whole World Wide Web.

If you don't have an up-to-date list set up already, go to Amazon and sign in. Browse through the kajillion items available and add the ones you like (heavy on items $20 and under usually works best) to your Wish List using the convenient button on every product page. Then navigate to your List and retrieve your unique link as shown below:

The big red 1 shows the button to click ("Tell people about this list"). The big red 2 is next to the location of your personal Wish List address. That address is what you want to paste in this thread. I will go through and add your TNL name and Wish List address to this first post to make it easier for your friends to find everything.

This was definitely awesome last year, even though I spent way more on you people than I did my family.

By the way, you can request multiples of the same item, so if you like Microsoft Points, for example, you can assign a quantity greater than one (Points card). Otherwise, once one person buys the card, it will disappear from your list for the next person. It's amazingly easy, so just go to the Wish List and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Also by the way, I owe Melf and Kano from last year. Melf's didn't get sent (LOL, Puerto Rico shipping!) and Kano bought me a great gift after I had already reached my spending goal. If either of you buys me something this year, you'll get two things, and if you pass this year, you'll still get a gift.

one tip i learned from last year is that when setting up your list, check the box at the bottom of the page to allow yourself to receive items from sellers at the amazon marketplace

there are lots of sellers with the same items, but for a lot cheaper. it allowed me to get a bunch of extra gifts for people for the same amount of $ i was going to spend anyways :tu:

That's a start and I'm sure I'll add a few things here and there over the next week or so. I kept everything on my list under $20 because I know I won't be able to spend any more than that on anyone else.

I'll send what I can this year once I start getting some extra money in. Kinda felt bad I didn't send out all that much last year and I got way more than I was expecting.

This was awesome last year, I got a bunch of stuff i didn't think i'd ever get, and i got to buy a bunch of cool people stuff too.

I hope to send out more stuff, but if you get a gift from me, that doesn't mean you have to send one back. I'm not doing this tit for tat, I'm not gonna be sending gifts out to people just because i received one from them. Almost everything on my list is $15 or under, other than the few DS/PSP games. By the way, Phoenix Wright 2 for DS is $15 on Amazon right now, if anyone is looking for a great lower priced game to add to their list.

I intend to first return the generosity of those who got me something last year whom I didn't reciprocate with, and then I'll be trying to get something for more people as well. I should have a good amount more funds for this time, so I hope to be able to get something for a larger group than last year. :)

I have a collection of bad b-movies and silly asian pr0n for drinking parties. Typically my wishlist is just so I remember what I saw here and there. Eventually I'll run across one for $1 in a bin and take it off the list.

I'd have Black Scorpion on the list, but all of it is out of print. Ditto for Bikini Car Wash Company on DVD. I Spit On Your Grave can get to come out twice, but heaven forbid the Kristi Ducati classic get a second chance.

I almost added I Spit on Your Grave the other day, just because I saw it when I was a little kid and had to cover my eyes for a good part of the movie. Yes, my dad rocks, but he's not totally irresponsible.

My father wasn't as responsible. ;) Though I do give him credit for treating me like an adult and letting me decide on my own regarding many things starting at a very early age.

Its actually a pretty decent movie, as far as slashers go.

I added a buttload of Criterion collection dvd's to my list, as they're not available in Australia. There's more creative gifts on page 2 though.

I can't even open the e-mail that tells me that I have a myspace invite because IT has it so it will shut down the monitor when I click on it. And I don't have the internet outside of work except when I walk down to a bar that offers free-wifi every now and then.

I think I'll buy half my TNL gifts now, half later. Yeah, it's kind of early, but Amazon has the 99-cent gift wrapping deal going on now. You really should wait until Christmas or at least December before unwrapping, in my opinion, but just have fun with it.

I'm not even opening any of the boxes until Dec 11th (my birthday is more important than Jesus) so if you're getting me something you don't have to gift wrap it unless you really want to.

Fixed. Amusing that you can actually take advantage the Bioshock/Darkness deal if you add both to the wishlist/cart, yet a PO Box isn't a legit address for any Game item. Go figure.
