Because it is a better game.
Saturn Bomberman is the correct answer.
I never got the Saturn version, unfortunately. Would love to try the 10 men bomberman with 9 other people, but that doesn't seem to be easy to do.
I find bomberman to be much more simple to learn/play (it is about as pick up and play as you can get), yet with the different maps/powerups, the game is deep. Any game where you make custom taunts is gold ("Greed Kills!").
I just don't like SSBM, I never understood why people hold it to such high esteem. It is not a particularly good fighting game and adding more people doesn't make it any better.
That's fine. This sort of subjectivity remains why these lists can't be taken seriously, and particular placement even less so. I'd still be interested in hearing why it isn't a good fighting game though.
Granted, I hold that DOA4 is a better game than many on this list, but I know I'm in the minority.
I don't know about the rest of you, but when I'm looking for a smart, unbiased perspective on the latest Nintendo games, I turn to Joust Williams.
