I think that if it somehow turns out that the ten best games ever made are all part of the same series, then they should all take their place in the top ten and sit there as a nice "you can't fuck with us" message to all of the developers whose games took places 11-100.

Probably one series won't ever be able to do that, but maybe Nintendo's franchises will work together to take the top 5. What's left: Super Mario Bros, Mario 64,Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and ........................Super Metroid? Wait, Super Metroid's not needed, Twilight Princess came out in 2006. Super Metroid can take 7th place after being edged out by Tetris for 6th.

They weren't very good? Also unlike a lot of other games that didn't make the cut, most people who made selections probably played those two games and made informed decisions not to include them.

By definition, picking FFVII or FFIX over either of those is not an informed decision. Of course, that poll was taken back in TNL's retarded Japanophile days before most people grew up.

If TNL made another list right now FF 7 would still be on it.

That thread shows me that the original Tenchu really was considered great by a ton of people. It's a shame there hasn't been an awesome next-gen (current gen) update for that franchise. Only diehards like me and Dolemite made it past playing the third or fourth game. I guess Assassin's Creed might fill the spot.
