There was a big stink about that over the summer when that happened. When I left I remember hearing how they were going to get challenged in the state supreme court--don't know what became of it though.
My only court story:
I in high school I had picked up a couple of friends and we were going to the mall. On the way there we are driving one of the main roads in the area, when all of a sudden a car from a cross street pulls out and almost hits me getting into the opposite driving lane. It didn't hit me, to which I was like OMG thanks. But the person behind them went also and turned into my lane in front of me. I slammed my break but it was raining out and so I slide into there car. We pull over, cops come, we go though the whole thing. I don't think much of it, other then being worried I'd get a ticket, because I rear ended this car.
Skip forward a few weeks, I have to go to court because the woman driving this car got a ticket and she was Fighting it. (Also her and her Father were suing me, for some crap, nothing ever came of it). My friends and I go to court. I get up and tell my story. Then she gets up and tells her story. The judge asked her why she went though a stop sign? She said, "Well, the car in front of me went, so I thought it was ok to go to." Yes apparently I didn't know this you can run a stop sign if the car in front of you does too.....right... The judge just laughed at her. We ended up having to come back a second time to court because she was so determined to fight this ticket.
Got an email from my lawyer today. He's getting charged in criminal court for a Fifth Degree felony after a plea. 6-12 months in prison.
Also, they are going to settle our impeding civil suit. His dad is going to pay me 65,000 in a lump sum.
meh, don't know how I feel, I mean the kid fucked up yeah, but it's his dad who is taking it on the nose.
Not to mention Virginia Highway Patrolmen are the biggest Nazi assholes on the planet. So, you don't want to get pulled over by them to begin with, much less with something juicy they can "Giuliani Time" your b-hole with like that.Quote:

Oh man, stay the fuck out of Michigan then. My buddy got a ticket for 6 over the speed limit. He then proceeded to tell the Statey that there were clearly other cars going faster than him. The statey then gave him a seat belt ticket, a sobriety test, and searched his car up and down for drugs. When he asked the cop why he was treated so poorly, the cop laughed and told him to stay the fuck out of Michigan and drove away. (He was from Texas)Quote:
