Well, it's a niche flick. I think they tried to build up an audience by advertising it as more whimsical and fantasy than it is. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't like that at all.

Did anyone else notice how much happier the "One Flag!" "Six Flags!" Magic Mountain guy got? He used to be seriously pissed off.
The Last King of Scotland - I never knew Forest Whitaker had it in him to act this well. Pretty good movie, the performances were great.
Currently watching a French adaptation of Top Gun called "Sky Fighters", which despite its shit story has some really beautiful photography in it.
Watched the Star Wars Christmas Special with Rifftrax commentary. Even with Rifftrax and having consumed 3 or 4 Crown & Cokes and a few White Russians during the show I felt like my brain was being scooped out of my skull with a soup spoon
Horton Hears A Who... with my girlfriend and no children (except the children who were in the movie theater already).
I almost fell asleep as did she... don't even think the kids really loved it. The animation was top notch and the overall visuals were astounding... but some parts just dragged.
(kinda sad when you read through what's out and a Dr. Seuss movie is getting the best reviews)
You know there's a thread for Horton hears a who.

Casey Ryback is just a lowly cook.
One of the better if not the best Seagal films. And after 16 years it still looks great. SS kicking ass and in great shape.
Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey chewing scenery as villains. Great knife fight with Seagal vs TLJ at the end.

Haven't seen it in a long time. It does look decent in HD and had some great moments. It feels like training grounds for Sam Raimi before he got to that Spidey gig.
It has some neat action, especially for the budget, many classic Raimi signature moves and tricks, and Bruce Campbel in last 10 seconds :p It also chock full of overacting, overly melodrama and your usual comic book moments.
I watched The Adventures of Robin Hood and enjoyed it but got a bit too cozy and passed right the hell out at the end. I need to see more sort of high adventure Erroll Flynn movies.
Also, can you still do films in Technicolor? It has a really cool aesthetic--like the film just straight revels in color. It's like a big party for color.
