Miller's Crossing- Didn't get into it at first, but it went from okay to great as it went on. I think i'd benefit from a second watching. One of those movies that has you thinking for a few days.
Barton Fink- Now this one i really enjoyed. Really bizarre, reminiscent of Eraserhead, but not quite so bizarre. John Goodman is one of my favorite actors completely because of the Coen Brothers.
Rumble Fish is awesome. Very underrated. I'm glad they shot it in B&W. Also watched Refused Are Fucking Dead.
I have this dvd but I never watched it. Now it's in storage with a ton of other dvds. Dammit.Quote:

Queued it just for Carly Schroeder, but it actually turned out to be pretty good. The kids came off genuine to me, and I could see everything that happens actually occurring in real life.
George was really well written. We all probably remember classmates like this who just had no concept of "normal" peer interaction, but still desperately wanted to fit in. The ones who try way too hard to say and do what they think is expected of them in social situations, coming off awkward and pathetic in the process, then turning vitriolic when called out.

I watched Happiness last night. I watched Welcome to the Dollhouse many years ago and really liked it, so I figured it was high time I watched the follow-up. It's a fucked up movie for sure, dealing with rape, murder, and pedophilia, but it made me laugh really hard. Phillip Seymour Hoffman especially had me rolling. I think you need a dark sense of humor, but I really liked it.
watched Gun Crazy and Hard Rock Zombies last night.
I always enjoy watching Gun Crazy with people that have never seen it. They never see the ending coming. My friend was rolling.
I don't think I want to see Hard Rock Zombies ever again. I like horrible movies, but holy shit does that movie drag after the second half. I always slip into a coma after the zombies eat the nazi midgets.
continuing on with more homework movies, i saw "Coward Bends The Knee" yesterday, and was quite shocked that it was a 2003 film. It was shot on 8mm then boosted to 35, its ultra grainy, and shot very old fashion (think kinda like Un chien andalou without as much surrealism)

I had to go to Walmart last night to pick up some supplies for my son's school project. While on my way to the fabrics and crafts section I passed electronics and did something I never do.
I dug through the $5 DVDs. I picked up Cliffhanger, Uncle Buck, T2 Extreme Edition, Running Man, Escape from NY, Young Guns, and True Lies. I've owned all of these before but they ended up either lost or stolen.
Last night we watched Cliffhanger. Man it was so bad it was great! I love how they are in untouched snow covered mountains, yet they never know where anyone is. Like they are so light of foot that no one leaves tracks in the snow. Also incredibly awesome was the way the bullets would make sparks when the hit the snow, like they were ricocheting off of metal or something.
Tonight I will open my sons eyes to the experience of The Running Man. I can't wait. I've had Temple of Dreams by Messiah in my head all day.
Watched Meet the Robinsons last night and liked it. Had no idea what it was about, it gets real cooky at points but it's a solid movie. The animation on The Bowler Hat Guy in particular was fantastic.
