Watched Luc Besson's "Angel-A" last night. Great until the ending, which was pretty hacky IMO.
Watching Tekkon Kinkreet tonight, I'm liking everything I've seen of it so far. It's like having a version of Paprika that's not frustratingly stupid.

I loved Angel-A, though I agree the ending was the worst part. Should have just let her go back. Bittersweetness ftw. Didn't stop me from awarding it 5/5 on Netflix though.
I didn't care much for Tekkon Kinkreet. Way too much talking, plus I didn't like the bratty little retarded kid. Should've made it a cute girl, then I might have been more (at all) concerned with her welfare.
Gone Baby Gone. I loved how they put the last scene in to show that things really don't change.
I also watched The Hunting Party. Decent movie. Might not ever feel the need to watch ever again, but not horrible.
I really liked everything else about Angel-A, though. I haven't looked up anything as far as technical details, but I'd swear they're using a really tricky sort of forced perspective on nearly every shot. Is she that tall? Madness.
Also: "Simon says: crush them."
I'm looking at Tekkon Kinkreet from the animation perspective first, story/characters second so far, and it's really neat. Bummer about too much dialouge, but the footchase on top of the moving cars then up the building has me hooked.
Watching Saved! since I'm sick and I found it on the tv. I forgot what a great movie it is. As far as teen pregnancy movies go, it shits all over Juno.
Saved is good, despite Mandy Moore (omg what a brave casting choice blah blah). I prefer Juno.
Death sentance, I REALLY liked this one shockingly so. This was a great surprise, I expected it to suck from the previews. But Bacon did a fantastic job, as did goodman.
watched Rendition last night. Jake Jiggleballs is about as wooden as a balsa plane and the rest of the movie is pretty meh. OH WOW, THE BEGINNING IS THE END. almost. what a shocker.
Dan In Real Life: Really good movie that was a little awkward at times, but overall the experience was very enjoyable. Steve Carell is really good it and pretty much is what makes the movie so great. Dane Cook is pretty forgettable however.
