GRID

I really like TOCA on the xbox so I am looking forward to this game.

A new in-game trailer (which has got to be from the PC version, as interviews have stated that the PS3 and 360 versions are locked at 30fps) has come out, as well as the first actual gameplay footage. GRID was also apparently playable at the Play.com Live event in the UK. I don't suppose anyone here is awesome and British enough to have played it there?

There's also a DS version coming out. And it runs at 60fps. Heh.

A little disappointed with the demo. I expected Race Driver 2 with better visuals and tracks and instead I get a new version of Dirt. Dirt was ok but I didn't like the feel of the cars and Grid feels exactly the same to me. Codemasters also put in that horrible piss filter like Dirt which gives the game that yellow, super bloom look that I'm not crazy about. The damage modeling and effects of it on your driving isn't too bad but I'm not sold yet on that reverse time effect when you crash. The pc demo comes out tomorrow and I'm sure like Dirt there will be a way to get rid of the ugly pee pee filter. It should also be a lot cheaper online which I'll wait for.

I thought this thread was going to be about The Grid. Maybe an XBLA port or a tribute thread. It isn't, though.

Wow, I never made that connection. "That's what you get" seems wildly inappropriate, now.

I really like Grid's demo, it is fast and visceral. I have alot of fun with it. HOWEVER, I don't like the drifting event at all. I am no good at drifting and I got whipped by the AI (700k vs 30k scores).
