Not in America at least, and not in the same way. IMHO opinion, of all the pioneers of bringing punk rock to the masses (counting the big 3, The Ramones, The Pistols, and The Clash) The Clash take the cake. But, you have to give it to the Ramones for giving birth to the blistering speed of punk rock's live performances, the simplistic yet anthemic approach, and for heralding in a new era of what we might call "power-pop" these days, and what was more largely and accurately defined as "pop-punk" in the years to come since they invaded NYC. The Ramones OWN pop-punk, and the number of Ramone's-esque bands that came from the 3 power-chord, anthemic song structure can't be counted on all the fingers and toes of it's forefathers. You'll find far more bands that pull influence from The Ramones than you will The Clash, and thankfully, the Pistols in the punk genre, which in many ways tells you that music, in general, is meant to be a form of entertainment above all.
Oh, BTW, I voted for "The Glad to See You Go's"
