Moonlanding a Hoax?
Well just in case this absolutely interesting topic has not graced this board yet, here it is. At the risk of sounding crazy(ier), after looking through some sites about this, and after thinking long and hard I'm still unsure as to WHAT REALLY HAPPENED!!......So what do you people think? Did it happen or didn't it? Maybe someone can come in here and throw out a good argument for/against it being a hoax. Oh and ruhztee thanks for the Number Stations link that is odd...

Oh come on. I'm as skeptical as anyone, but come on.

I've seen the FOX special, and to be honest, both sides have such solid evidence, that I'm 50/50. I wouldn't be suprised if it was a hoax, and I could totally accept it being real. I think the bext piece of evidence the "hoax" side has going for it is the photos taken "on the moon" where shadows go in the wrong direction and some objects in the pictures cover up the "+" on the photos, which are impossible to cover since they are on the lens.

Heh, I know it sounds crazy. I thought the moonlanding was definite set-in-stone event as well. But at least think about one thing.
I read this off a message board, so if this is full of inconsistencies or if something in this is totally wrong please strike me down with truth and logic.
But what the person said and I agree with until proven otherwise is that in this day and age, our technology has far surpassed the 60s. Yet since that landing on the moon, we have never gone back. Not once. As a matter of fact, no manned spacecraft has passed Earth's gravitational pull. So what we are expected to believe is that 4 DECADES ago, we flew pass the Earth's gravitational pull, flew to the moon through whatever radiation fields there may be on the way, landed on the moon, people got out and ran around and had their fun, then they flew back. But they NEVER go back again? What the hell? Why not make an attempt to colonize? Also to send small probes out it takes years of preparation. So they managed to send humans to the moon relatively quick after Kennedy's statement that a man would in fact land on the moon.
*Edit* I just saw your post Rick, and I agree. The pics were the next thing I was going to bring up. I have read arguments defending those photos as well and damnit, THEY bring forth good points too! But the shadows thing is very interesting indeed.
It just seems unbelievable. But remember I read this last night from an anonymous poster at some "Paranormal Phenomena" message board, so for all I know this could just be some cracked out paranoid freak
So anyone care to correct all of that? Or maybe even agree? It's just hard for me to believe that we can't fly back there now if we did it once almost 40 years ago or however long.

Wait, we only landed once? I thought we landed at least once more. I've heard that the thing about the flag blowing on the moon, a friend even mentioned it a few days ago. Are you sure we only landed once? I seen that HBO series a while back, and I vaguely remember us landing more than once. Did anyone besides us ever land, maybe Russia? If it was a hoax, then why did they do it?
-
Why not go back? Because, although we've got the tech to get there, and have had it for decades, we don't yet have the ability to do anything useful once we're there. There were several trips to the moon, not just the first, but other than a bit of minor research nothing major was accomplished other than showing that we could.
You can disprove anything. I can prove the lot of you don't exist. The proof may be totally logical and inarguable, but I think you'd have something to say if I tried to claim your gaming collections. You don't exist, what do you need all those systems for? :)

The reason we haven't been back to the moon is the reason for alot of things: Politics.
We've been there, and there's no compelling political reason to spend the money to go back.
The only reason the US went to the moon in the first place was to beat the Russians there. If it hadn't been for the Cold War, I honestly think we wouldn't have been there yet. It's not that people wouldn't have wanted to go, it's just that the people who control the funding (the government) would have said "Who cares?"
Remember, politicians have no imagination. Their only ambition is power, and their only interests are in what gets them that power.

We haven't had manned spacecraft break the Earth's gravitational field since? Is that true?
Even if we haven't, we've gone into orbit so far from the Earth's surface that the pull is relatively weak, and it's likely we could break the pull. Unless you argue that all space launches are a hoax.

Green and James, thanks for contributing. For all I know, we could have landed 10 times, we could have landed never. I just took the info from a messageboard and posted it here because it seemed like a it had some good points. Of course that's assuming the facts used to prove the points are actually truth. So maybe we did land more, I never heard much about it though. But you would think they would address the photo anomalies. Here's a couple, maybe someone here can explain them.
1.Photos are shown with shadows in different directions, indicating multiple light sources.
2.There is no dust thrown up from the landing in any of the pictures.
3.American flag is waving on the surface of the "moon".
The suspense continues...
