Stibbons: Russia has never gone to the moon. They claimed that they knew the radiation in between the moon and the Earth would be impossible for any human to survive. But now in present day we do know for a fact that they were trying very hard to get up there...
Anyway I've said all I really can about it, alot of people in here did a good job of presenting arguments for both sides. The way it looks though is the talk of a Hoax had alot of people looking for any possible defect in a picture without stopping to think if there was some way to scientifically explain it(By people I don't mean the people who posted info on it in this topic, I mean people who made websites about it.) The Bad Astronamy site is a good read if you are interested in disproving the Hoax theory.
It was an intriguing idea while it lasted I guess...:confused:
Here a question that always bothered me:
if the US put a flag on the moon,how come we never see photos of it,beside of the photos they took when they put it there?With all the satellites and super telescopes we have,it should be easy to have pictures of it.
And that's without counting the moon "bogey" they left on the moon.In theory,the tires traces should be still visible because of the absence of wind to recover the track.

Yes,but if the US governement is capable of lauching a missile that can hit a target like a hut in africa,why can't they took a picture of a little pole on the moon.Since they put it there,they should at least have a little idea of where it is.Quote:

That's without counting the spy's satellite that can make topographic picture without using much precision.
well they can do those things cause of Global Positioning Satalites and the longitude and Latitude of things plus were on this planet
they dont have the moon mapped out the way they do the planet as they werent afraid of being bombed from the moon

I wouldn't exactly say the gravity is "weak" there. Not a trivial thing to break out of. So why does everything float in orbit? Have you ever seen that airplane that astronaughts use to train in? It flies really high and plummets towards the ground. While it is falling, everything in it is "weightless". That's the exact same deal as orbiting earth. Think of orbiting a planet as falling towards it, but constantly missing it. You're not falling straight down on it, you're kinda' falling off to the side of it, but you're still falling. Instead of falling right past the planet and going off into space, the gravity pulls you back and you just keep falling towards it. It's kinda' tricky to explain, but that's what it is. Anyway, being "weightless" in orbit is still very much in earth's gravity, and not all that close to escaping it.Quote:

Even if we haven't, we've gone into orbit so far from the Earth's surface that the pull is relatively weak, and it's likely we could break the pull.
There is one fact and one fact alone that proves the whole thing was a hoax.
that was well over 30 years ago, yet we have no bases there, no more landings,no interest or talk of going there, no nothing. not to mention the fact that not one other country has managed to land there or has expressed interest in landing there since the early 70s. something is fishy.
lets also remember TV and the invisible microwave technology which powers it was less than 10 years old when the first landing, how the hell did the base communicate with the astronauts, tin cans and a string???
its funny, when it comes to conspiracy theories, people overlook the most obvious things, and search for overlapping crosshairs in photographs instead, etc, etc.

oh, and the MOON DOES NOT SPIN!!!! Ever heard of the Dark Side of the Moon, this phenomena is a direct result of the Moon not spinning, unlike every other observed object in the solar system, from other moons, to planets, to asteroids, they all spin!!!
its an oddity that scientist cannot figure out. factor into that the fact the the moon just happens to be in size directly proportional to the distance of the earth from the sun so that we experience eclipses, etc....
it is almost as if it were manufactured.....
