Question about super obese peeps.

My wife and I got into an debate last night about whether or not people who enable the crazy fat people out there (600 lb + and bed ridden) and keep helping these people eat themselves to permanently damaged bodies and maybe death should be held accountable.

My wife submits that they should not be held accountable because fat people aren't intentionally trying to kill themselves (even if that is the end result)

I think that since if you try to kill yourself you can get sent to a mental hospital for psych treatment and what not that the same should be said about preventing huge people from killing themselves. I mean if you give booze to a 17 yr old girl who then promptly drinks and drives and kills a family you're responsible too, we arrest drug dealers so why not some how penalize care takers of the super obese who enable the crazy fat to stay crazy fat or get worse or whatever.

No, adults are accountable for their own actions. The faster these disgusting pieces of shit eat themselves to death, the less they burden our health care system and cost us money. Put some cyanide in their pudding for the sake of the country.

But usually it's some one else helping them get food. There were times when I was delivering pizza when I'd take some huge ass 4 large pie order to two giant parents and their butterball kids would waddle up, nearly topple me over for the pies. I always wanted to say "Fuck no, look what you're doing to your kids and yourself, I'm taking this shit back and getting you salads and oranges" so doesn't the accountability of the individual end some where? If that's the case why does society penalize drug dealers?

Kids are a different story. I think pediatricians should (maybe they can) be able to call child services in situations where the adults' habits are harming the kids. This goes for stupid things ranging from smoking to gluttony.

Addiction. If I convince you to do heroin you could become addicted in a way that's beyond rational self-control, but if I convince you to eat a whole pizza that's not going to have the same effect on your biology. Well, that and money reasons.

If I make fun of fat people and they bury their feelings of sadness in more food, does that make me an enabler?

For children, I actually agree. It's sick for a parent to be enabling a child like that. And to keep feeding them shit after shit after shit.

Adults? Not so much. I do feel for them, however. Unlike Yoshi (though I respect and strangely even understand his opinion). They must have some hardcore emotional issues. It sounds no fun, and I certainly wouldn't call them a sick piece of shit because of it. And, well, if it started as a kid, and carried over, how much blame can we really put on them?

They're still responsible for eating 40 times a day, of course. But it still breaks my heart.

I had to slowly watch my cousins get fatter and fatter as they got older, and they were actually involved in sports, dance classes and other physical things, but the eating habits they got from their parents were terrible, everything was fried, they even cooked their eggs in the left over bacon grease.

I don't think anyone else should be blamed for what adults choose to eat, if they get obese it's their own fault, but with kids I think it's different. I feel bad for 5 year olds who are already chunky.

I feel sorry for really fat people though because losing weight isn't easy. And once you find yourself weighing 350+ pounds the depression from it can only make it harder.

Yeah, children's services can be called if crazy vegetarian mothers enforce absurd diets in growing children. This happens, and the children can be removed from custody of the parents that makes them too skinny. We can't we do the same for making a healthy kid too damn fat? You're putting your child at equal health risk in some cases.

That's a pet peeve of mine. These crazy vegan people inflicting stupid diets onto their kids. What's worse is the people who force PETS on a vegan diet. Yes, it exists. Fucking cruel. Those people should be shot.
