bumping the thread because I did the penny mod and it definitely makes a huge different for notes registering.
However, I think it makes the even louder than normal, so it may be necessary to take part in the quiet-pad mod. but the penny mod is very very easy and has definitely helped me with streaks.
I'm rolling with penny mod + 4 Office Depot mouse pads at $3 a piece that I cut up and rubber-cemented onto the default pads.
Hit registration and sound muffling are about 75% better.
Pad rebound is about 25% better.
So Rock Band is 360-only in Europe. Until sometime in the fall, anyway. 360 version releases on May 22nd.
