Thin Lizzy pack has to be one of the best track packs to have come out in a long time. Loved playing them all on Expert Guitar and Bass, my buddy who plays on Drums can't get over how much fun they are either.
I love the Guitar intro in Cowboy Song too.
You don't need to beat the high tier metal tracks in order to unlock more tracks. Just playing through different venues in World Tour mode will allow you to unlock more songs outside of the metal tracks.Quote:
Can you unlock new songs in this game by beating those stupid metal songs at the end?
Unless you mean challenge mode? I managed to unlock 40-50 track long era setlists after completing the harder Guitar challenges so you can unlock the tracks that way too.
Surprised the impossible Guitar challenge is as easy as it is.
The on-disc content really hasn't been much of a challenge for guitar in either of the RB band games. Outlaws were the exception in RB1 and Steely Dan are the exception in RB2.
Most of the hard stuff is DLC.
That's cool though, 'cause a lot of the hard stuff is just wanker bullshit anyway (Yngwie Fagsteen).
And the rest is fucking .
Bodhissatva the exception? The only truly tricky part of that song for me is the double picking section were it alternates between a couple of snaky hammer-ons, and a zig-zag hammer-on that consists purely of chords. The rest of the song is fairly managable in my opinion.
Visions is the song I found most troublesome, only because if I screw up those crazy hammer-ons, between the zig-zag on notes you have to strum, I usually end up losing my footing and miss a whole crapload of notes that drag me into the red zone.
God I hate that song.
I find Green Grass & High Tides annoying because of the latter half of that second solo with the constant zig-zagging, annoying but do-able everytime after you get the song down.
Now this I agree with. I actually enjoy Red Devil by Yngwie though. It's a good mix between slightly challenging, and batshit crazy (If only because of that solo).Quote:

I Ain't Superstitious is probably the easiest of the pack in my opinion, but that's not saying much. I ended up buying that, but I think I'll invest in Good Mourning/Black Friday, and Wake Up Dead at some point in the future.
The whole album's awesome, really; it's my favorite DLC in the game by far.
Bass is probably kind of crappy (I don't know because I haven't played any of it) since everything Dave Ellefson did sucked in real life aside from the Peace Sells intro.
But all the other instruments are awesome to play if you can handle the challenge.
I tried bass on a few of the songs a while back. Devils Island is pretty neat on bass, full of gallops, and constant switches between frets. Bad Omen has a pretty enjoyable bassline. Lots of satisfying hammer-ons and zig-zags. At some points it reminded me of the bassline of "Prequel To The Sequel" from the free 20 DLC.
God I love that song, even if that genre of Metal doesn't appeal to me, in fact, the whole Colors album by Between The Buried & Me is a pretty damn good listen.
I can see the songs getting much better with multiple playthroughs. Wake Up Dead was my personal favorite on Guitar.Quote:

Fratellis flathead's a decent song. I don't think I'll DL any of it though.
I deleted GG&HT. Fuck that song, it's boring forever and then the end is boring AND annoying.
Next week:
