I love to learn, I'm one of those nerds in the class-room who interjects nearly every chance he gets, but math and I just don't agree. Not to be a dick, but next to algebra, trig is going to be the second most important math class you will take when it comes to preparing you for calc. And calc is required for all modern science. It is the math of change.

If you are a so so math student, trig will make the difference in getting a C or a D in calc.

As for what trig is good for, well about everything in physics. Trig math is the same math you use to calculate forces. It may not make much sense, but the same math used to figure out a triangel's angels and side length is the same math you use to figure out the total force of two forces acting at one point.

Learn trig. If you continue going to school for physics, you will never stop seeing it. NEVER

And not to prove buttcheeks wrong, but in my engineering life, I used trig and calc about 1.2% of the time.
