The club it was somewhere in the city proper. I'm glad I didn't road trip it. It sounds like I dodged a bullet there.
no, they did not make a conscientious decision. There never was a point where businesses had a real choice between US and Foreign made goods of equal quality where the only difference was price.
US manufacturing companies made the choice to move factories that were in the US to foreign countries, espically china, because of the cheep labor and lax restrictions.
There never was a situation where a store had to choose between selling GE light bulbs made in the US and Sukimuki light bulbs made in china. The manufacturing companies made the choice on their own. The store made an order and at some point in time the light bulbs came in, and it said made in china.
Large retailers like Walmart, Target, K-mart and mall chains are the ones that pushed for this. Before then the manufacture didn't really give a shit because they controlled the price.
this is the problem with everything you've had to say so far.
Do us all a favor and take someone you work with out to eat that is over 40 or 50. There is a lot more to this than what is right in front of your face and the bullshit you learned in school. Modern business and economics is not like the business of 20, 30, or 40 years ago.
I'm not really sure why you're not understanding that cheap Chinese products were around long before Walmart's massive franchising growth. And before Target was a brand name franchise.
According to your own post manufactures did what they had to do to maximize profits. Welcome to business.Quote:

You have no idea what you're talking about Ironplant. Everything you're saying is about issues with the Chinese economy and American manufacturers. Because it has nothing to do with Walmart (read: The actual topic of discussion) specifically aside from them doing what everyone else does the only thing you can do now is attack my credibility. And that's exactly what you're doing.
It was nothing like it is now. There is a difference between some cheap shit and almost every god damn thing you buy.
Biff knows what is up and isn't arguing with me about it. And he would if he could. This would be a great chance for him to swoop in, post a huge reply on something he has tons of real life experience in, own TNL's clown buttplant and be the hero.
But he isn't.
Cause you're wrong. And uniNformed.
