I am TNL's clown! asshole buttcheeks.
The American economy went through a recession in the 80's. The American economy boomed in the 90's. I wonder why things got better for those pesky slant eyes more recently? What a crazy thought.

Only 50% of Walmart's goods are imported from China. Walmart did not start the trend of outsourcing. And in fact a little more than half the manufactured items in Walmart are domestically produced. Everyone agrees with what I'm saying because it's how business is run. That's a common fact. The reason Walmart even got its foot in the door ahead of Woolco (the big name store at the time it was founded) was because it dealt directly with manufacturers instead of a franchised middle company.
Walmart didn't even initially make its name off of cheap Chinese products. You're so full of shit.
Not funny drew, you called this debate, and he's winning. Shit or get off the pot or accept an 0-2 day in this thread.
Edit what you will, but Walmart initially purchased Chinese products through Mars Inc in the 70's, which is an American company. So sir, indeed you fail because A) You don't know what you speak and B) You attacked cheeks when you were wrong.
I mean this is 101 business shit Drew, it's not like every american business management student did not learn this.....LOL Canada or LOL andrew, which is it?
A clear trend in TNL is to spat off without point or fact and I have been guilty, however no longer will this be accepted by Biff, I will now call you on your and hope to stop you from being a one trick douchebag.
He's pulling shit completely out of his ass and passing it off as legitimate fact.
Who Buttcheeks? Yes he does not really understand global sourcing, I'll give you that, but indeed he is more correct than you.
Walmart was founded on the cost of doing business, much like Best Buy, if you lock up your global sources, you win.
That's not the point he's making. The point he's making is that Walmart is seemingly the only store who was pushing for cheaper goods. When it isn't even WALMART. It's us, the consumers. Walmart isn't just producing random shit for no reason. They're giving us what we want. When all Walmart is doing is telling manufacturers what to make as it reflects what you, the consumers, are telling them through sales.
The REAL point is that American manufacturers were pushing ridiculous costs on to stores through needless middle companies and retarded salaries. Ol' Jethro the high school drop out shouldn't be making 55k a year for pouring liquid plastic in to a Hulk Hogan action figure mold. Don't even try to fucking sell me that.
That's just standard, regular business. Smart business.
Manufacturers are forced to play by bigger store's (WalMart's) rules. But in the "old days" it was reversed. Manufacturers produced whatever they wanted, and dictated their terms to the retailers. But what WalMart is doing is reflecting the demands of consumers. WalMart doesn't tell consumers what to buy, rather, consumers are telling WalMart what they want, and how much they are willing to pay. WalMart is simply dictating that to the manufacturers. That's exactly how a marketplace should be driven by basic supply and demand economics.
Sneakers made in China right now, a move manufacturers made based on CONSUMER demands, cost 20 dollars. In the American manufacturing market they would be 150. Not exactly the kind of sneakers you'd want to wash your car in.
All of this other shit he's drumming up is bleeding heart socialist bullshit that has NOTHING to do with business.
Drew, if that were true walmart would have 2 dollar DVD's, if they wanted it, it would happen.
I like giving power to the buyer as much as the next guy, but Jesus let's not paint a halo around the W, k?
