I don't have my original cart anymore, I've bought and sold that game a dozen times by now, but the last time I played it (about six months ago), the battery still worked. I found that amazing.
I'd play through a remake of IV.
The Remakes of I and II are beautiful, and I'd pay $60 for a remake of IV.
I saw this posted in the digitpress thread and decided to post it here. It makes me nostalgic for early EGM.
I remember that review... was that issue one? I think Shinobi got a Direct Hit! for the SMS in that same issue. I picked up Phantasy Star partially because of that review and because my spoiled best friend had it and it looked amazing.
I remember that issue, too. I think it's from the "pre-EGM EGM" era, when the mag was called Electronic Game Player or something.

My love for this series knows no bounds. I got the first game using all my birthday money when it came out, and I was 11. It took me almost a month to figure out that I had to buy "secrets" several times before you could get the road pass to the space port in Camineet.
Overall it took me almost 6 months to finish it, with almost daily calls to 1-800-USA-SEGA to get the little hint guides they sent out, and other tips.
What a great game and series. HB Phantasy Star.
Yeah, my first EGM was the Buyer's Guide from late '88 which was later than this review (although the guide did use the EGM name despite coming out before issue #1). I missed out on the Electronic Game Player issues and would love to see full scans of them.Quote:
