You gonna cherry-pick?
Aside from saying that death happens you have yet to present a single reason why alcohol and guns should be compared, and made a really weird logic jump from my post that wasn't at all what I said. But okay, if your intent is just to try and get to insulting as fast as possible, that's cool too.
If one is playing Devil's Advocate, it is sometimes customary to announce it. Otherwise the other side thinks you're stupid as well as the side you're on.
also: ABSENTEE LANDLORD.
They're compared because they are both taboo physical items that some people enjoy and when put into the wrong hands can cause death. That death really bothers some people and they would like to see them regulated more or outright banned. In the hands of responsible adults they can be a source of bonding, a fun hobby, entertainment, and even a source of nourishment (you can eat the things you shoot with a gun (but don't shoot people and eat them!))
It is obnoxious to defend alcohol as being better for people (which is what, antioxidants? Which you only need like 1/4 a cup of wine to get? and can be gotten from grape juice or a supplement?) than a gun. And it is dumb to say that alcohol is somehow not a object but a gun is.
I asked you to explain why you felt that way and you essentially give me the reasoning of a alcoholic. 'Drink a pint of vodka because it is good for your body and soul.' I have to wonder if you are doing some Colbert level satire in response to gun nuts that defend what they want with "Murika"
Alcohol shouldn't be prohibited, but drunk drivers need to have their asses thrown in jail. Reading about a drunk driving death where a guy has 8 DUis already is infuriating.
This is hilariously vague.I mentioned, and I quote, "in very specific moderation." You're skipping over my intentionally placed qualifiers to push sweeping generalizations to try and compare two totally different things because of a statistical result that doesn't occur in the same manner. Drugs and alcohol are ingestible substances that affect the body, can impair decision making, can offer beneficial qualities, and can become addicting and ruin a person's life. A gun is an object that doesn't change any chemical reactions inside a person. Judging whether or not someone is using alcohol within socially acceptable norms and not putting themselves and others at risk has nothing to do with how gun regulation should or should not be handled.Quote:

Oh for fucks sake.
