Did they get significantly more screechy and awful recently or were they always like that? Leaning towards always.
I think they've gotten a bit more "internet" recently, but they've always been pretty loud and obnoxious.
I'm the same way now, can barely deal with a single ad.
We've become the weird adults that don't own a tv. I mean, we do, because we know how to use them intelligently, but we're coming from the same place.

I watched a little Fresh Prince on MTV while snowed in yesterday and couldn't believe how many ads there were. I can't remember if it was always this bad.
And they definitely got more "internet." Lots of three-second looping clips and meme fonts, signs, and humor. Feeling out of touch with the airing of TV show I grew up watching was weird.
I get twelve basic channels by plugging my TV into the coaxial my innernets come from. I'm never home, so anything I watch is a stream from the channels' websites.
I will pay for beisbol, however.
