Joe Walmart isn't shooting up public places. Isolated people with a disconnect to society are. They spend months, if not years, planning these. They may not have the connections ISIS does, but it does not mean they are any less calculated.
Empathy is the only solution to this. Again, spree killing violence is peanuts in the candy bar of gun violence. But if there is an increase in it, it is due to the nature of online society separating us more than it connects us. I believe this also accounts for the recent increase in racism. ARBM never would have made the comments he made fifteen years ago.
We need to touch people more, especially in America.
