Anyone know of a good place to get an R4 that ships internationally?
electrobee claims to ship worldwide (how much that'll cost I don't know), but they won't have R4's in stock until march-ish... it appears that they do however have cyclods carts available
(cyclods can use micro sdhc cards, so it may be a better reason to get that rather than an R4)
Hmmm, they have M3 DS bundles as well. Is there any real difference between the R4, M3 and Cyclod?
Is one better than the others?
The way I understand it is that pretty much all the slot 1 devices for ds are pretty equal in terms of what they can and can't do; you have oddballs like the cyclo that have sdhc support and other kinds of shit like that (one card I think uses entirely builtin memory and you hook it up via usb) but for the most part they're all just different means to the same end... A good site for comparing them, if you don't mind the whole "piracy" angle, is gbatemp where they have fairly indepth reviews of all them crazy cards. I'd say take a gander at their articles and base your decision on their information.
Aight. Reading about the Cyclo makes me interested in it... hrrrmmm.
I've used 3 different flash carts so far (R4, Toptoy DSTT, and Edge). Out of the 3, Edge is definitely my favorite out of the 3 mainly for the skin switcher the interface options and since that is just a clone of the Cyclo with less features, I'm gonna recommend the Cyclo too (or Edge if you can even find it since it'll cost less). I do want myself an Acekard RPG for the dual storage option, though. But I need to get my own DS first. :lol:
if you want pure bare-balls access with a poor and irregularly-updated kernel you could always get an EZ Flash V like I got!
as a bonus it even randomly gobbles up save states :cool:
The CycloDS is bad ass!! I have one and I love it. I did a bunch of reading up on them and I think the CycloDS is head and shoulders above the rest. They update the firmware very regularly also.Quote:
