It's a few days till Christmas, so it's about time for gift giving. Naturally, this means we're all getting crap that we don't want. Gamers in particular, I think, get some of the worst crap. The family all knows that we are gamers, but they have no clue what's good and invariably get whatever is on clearance at Walmart.
For example, one of Kristy's friends got me a Wii game, which was really nice of them. However, that game was Red Steel. Ack.
What kind of crap is everyone else getting?
I don't know what I'm getting yet but I do know I spent $300 on a particular piece of jewelry that I'm praying to (well, not really) God that she likes.

(steal a gift or open a new one, a gift can only be stolen twice before it's done)
Last year I stole an amazing blue Holt Renfrew scarf from her that I gave to my girlfriend. (I also got the same scarf for my brother's girlfriend too, which was an easy score) This year I stole a really nice designer woman's wallet from her (and I'm single now, which made her even angrier). The wallet was eventually stolen from me. So I stole a shitty bale of mixed nuts from her just to spite her and she physically had to be held back by people around her as I haphazardly yoinked it from the table around her. I kept saying baguette, baret, anana and stupid shit in french while I did it to throw gasoline on the fire.
My grandmother got me a Stretch Armstrong doll once...when I was 18. Oh granny, you!

Current girl is getting me socks, the ultimate gift (and I'm not kidding). When she broke up with her ex, he took all of her South Park DVDs, so I bought her season five for now, since it has Towelie and we have a running joke with one another based off of "You're a towel!"
I don't understand the girl telling the guy some expensive thing she wants and then him going to get it. You say, "No, that's too expensive," and if she gets angry or something you break up.
That's actually a perfect way to pick out gold diggers.

This is why my family is enlightened. We all understand that people don't want stupid shit so we all make these amazing things called CHRISTMAS LISTS and pass them around so people get what they actually want. Try it sometime, it's really neat.

I'm dreading whatever my Mother got my for xmas. She made it should like we were so freaking poor that they couldn't afford anything more then the tank of gas I already got but the last few weeks my Mother had bought a ton of crap. My Mother has no clue what I like, getting a gift from here is a strong reminder of how much she doesn't understand me in the slightest.
While it wasn't a xmas present one year she from my birthday she told me to wait home something was being delivered. I was all excited until a huge bouquet of flowers showed up. It had to have been really expensive, I was just like ugh and left for the day. I come home and my Mother was like aren't you going to put the flowers in your room? I was like why would I do that? I'm allergic to flowers.

We donated to Shriners Childrens Hospital this year and also dropped off a bunch of toys. They provided some services for my sister in the past, and we try to help out where we can in return. Plus it helps to teach our kids charity, which is an easy concept to understand, but a hard concept to follow through.

I think it depends on how you were raised myself. My catholic side of the family adores christmas and has always treated it as the biggest event of the year.
