Learning To Play Guitar

I got to play around with a Fender Champion 600 tube amp today, pretty sweet:

I've learned over the past week or so through experimentation that I need a tube amp. After developing an ear for that warm tone I can't go back to solid state. The Fender Champion's about $200 and I'm having a hard time not jumping on it.

Thats a pretty decent amp for that price, but then again I have a soft spot for the super low wattage tube amps. I've got an older Kalamazoo 5 watt amp that sounds great. Hit up some pawn shops too, you might be able to find a ratty Princeton Chorus or Champ if you're lucky.

I'd love to get my hands on one of these: http://zvexamps.com/amp_view.html 1/2 a watt and will push a 4x12 cabinet no problem

BTW, my buddy Yuki (Japan eyedrop hookup) came over and he SHREDS! Like mad. I have rarely seen anybody in real life that can command a guitar like that.

HAy I had that Ram album where he's shearing a sheep on the cover but I just gave it away. To the trashcan! 4 realz.

That album is incredible. Better than anything any other member of the Beatles ever put out post-breakup. Not like thats saying much
