Sony has been a hardware company forever. Nintendo's debatable, because they started (after the playing cards) with arcade boards, which could be both.

Sony was a software company BEFORE they were a Videogame hardware company.

It doesn't have to be video game hardware. Sony actually knows about failure tollerance and what-not. None of their products have a 30% defective rate.

The 360 hardware is a big piece of shit!? Damn, news to me.

What I find funny, though, is how it seems like the consensus has been that if you own a 360 is will break and that's the end of that. Everyone is just waiting for the RROD because it must be coming. It must.

Now I'm not saying 30% isn't stupid high, but really, if 7 out of 10 people are going to have working units, it's not exactly like you should expect your system to break.

What were the end results of the poll yoshi did on failure rates?

if i remember correctly launch consoles were horrendously high, and 2nd run were not that much better either.
