Microsoft explains why they implemented the transforming D-pad instead of just replacing the damn thing.
My god damn pink controller stopped working. Guess I'll pick up one of these.
Really wish somebody would give me a Kinect for free, because I would play the shit out of DanceMasters.
That video about the dpad makes me want to punch that guy. I've read far too many people saying that the thing still isn't worth a damn.
Also, the more I use the new dashboard, the more I wonder if anybody at Microsoft even knows what the hell they're doing with user interface design. You can't rate games from your library anymore? Checking out avatar outfits causes pop-ups that cover your avatar, making it so that you can't even see parts of the outfit you're trying to look at? The even more terrible new friend list?
It's funny, because with Nintendo and Sony, they're inept in ways you're expecting them to be. With Microsoft, they completely screw up things they have no place or excuse screwing up.
I was thinking about that the other day. You would think the company whose primary business is creating operating systems would be better a UI design.
ALL THAT DPADS SHOULD DO ARE FUCKING UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT.
For everything else there's the analog stick. And fat lols at using that shit for fighting games.
All that effort and I bet it still sucks.
That video was painful to watch.
Also great to know Microsoft is listening to us. Yes, the consumer outrage was solely because we couldn't play classic Pac-Man correctly, not because you couldn't play Street Fighter for shit with the stock pad. That's exactly right! Thanks for listening, Microsoft!
They just aren't willing to admit that their product is terrible so they make up the "well this d-pad is good for this and this one is good for this!" horseshit.
