The right brake got totally worn down on one of my controllers to the point of non-functioning and my play-and-charge kit died a while ago, so I picked up one of the new controllers. The dpad feels, uh, "crisper" than my other ones, but that's most likely due to age and use. The raised up mode feels a little better for Pac-Man, but functionally doesn't seem to have much of a difference. So yeah, it's neat but I wouldn't replace any non-broken controllers with it.
The complete lack of color makes it look kind of unnatural, since there's still different shaded backgrounds in the buttons.
