The Last Day premium theme is NOT free, it's 250 points. I think it was free for a day.

Yeah I am happy to see I can still use my old gamerpic(s) instead of my avatar. I was surprised though that my Lumines theme was still in the background, was expecting a total new theme style or so.
That said, I was done with dwl and installing in less than 4 mins, but like a lot of reports I also have some problems when you check a game it takes forever to load the extra info like download conctent/market place and when it eventually gets there you get an error code, also after I exit a party window everything seems to freeze for a good 10-15 sec makes you think your x360 just crashed.
edit: Installed Gears 2 on HDD, x360 barely makes a noise during play.

you can't just slap any old drive in, it has to be a specific 120GB WD model and you have to find a 120GB 360 drive firmware file to hex edit and flash with a tool via pc... so yeah, if you're not professor super nerd and/or just don't have that kind of patience it's probably more cost efficient to find a used one on ebay or amazon or some such
It looks sorta like me.

The more that I look at it, I think I need to do some work on it.
Thanks, Although I had a look see on ebay and a local site from here in Holland kinda works like ebay and saw some for pretty decent prices around
Saw a 120 for about €60, better than the full price in a store. It's nice to have more options to get a 120gig for a decent price.
Anyone else check out Weapon of Choice? It's pretty fucking cool if I do say so myself.

Also missing skin pigmentation and a talmud.

By the way, I was wearing that same style/color shirt when I made the avatar. Also, I don't own any jeans.
It looks just like you.
My brother's looks exactly like him, but he added a black handlebar moustache for biker porn action. I was looking over my friends list yesterday and I think yours is also spot-on.
The pants aren't tight enough.
Ripped Gears 2, Fallout 3 and NHL 09. None gave me any problem.
I've been running games off the HD fine. This thread over at CAG has 200+ games and their install sizes for the 360:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...d.php?t=202456
Most games appear to be around 6 gigs. A few games are not supported.
Yeah, Halo 3 install actually increases load times because of the way that it uses the "utility partition" on the hard drive. I installed Gears 2 and no problems, pretty sure it reduces load times by a good amount.
No problems here. I mean, there are a few things that are running a little slow sometimes (though mainly only during peak hours) such as marketplace and loading up all my friends avatars, but they aren't very major, and I am sure that will be taken care of shortly. Other than that, the NXE is freaking amazing, and I think Sony's home is going to have a lot to live up to.
What happened to the live gameshow channel? I think it was supposed to be called Primetime?
>_< ebay it is. Thanks for the warning.
I can't find this game or whatever it is, but yeah been hearing around it's pretty cool. Is this limited to certain region only? Cause I have been looking around but can't find it around on xbox live.
From the XNA FAQ:
What is interesting is that there are countries where you can submit and sell games from that can't buy games (like most of northern Europe). WTF.Quote:
In which regions will Xbox LIVE Community Games be available for purchase this holiday?
Consumers in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Spain will be able to download Xbox LIVE Community Games for purchase at launch. We'll be adding support for other regions later in 2009 and beyond.
If you make a US account, you can download the trials to be played on your normal account. The games themselves aren't region coded.
I couldn't get it to look right, but I do wear denim and denim.

Hmm guess I just have to wait.
Btw maybe someone here knows about it or can point me in the right direction if not i'll just mail MS about it.
But as said previously, I was planning on upgrading my HDD, in about 1,5 year i'm gonna migrate from a PAL region to a NTSC region, now my account is set as a PAL region and I was planning to take the 120gig with me when I migrate, will this bring up issues when I activate it from a NTSC region?
Or should I just keep my 20 gig sell it with the x360 and when I migrate and after buying a new ntsc x360 and get my account back via the option, will this one works better?
Thanks in advance.
Your account is permanently whatever region you set it as. As far as I know MS does not allow you to transfer em to any other region.
:/
I guess I have to take my HDD with me then, I assume if my account is set to pal but when I have it running on a NTSC system it won't bug out on me (I hope not at least).
I use a creditcard to pay for xbox live so I won't be stuck with buying EU xboxlive cards.
It'll run fine, yeah. But you're permanently stuck with the EU marketplace, unless you start a new account. Oh and if there's something on there that is IP blocked you won't be able to get it.
It's really fucking stupid how MS has that shit work.

The Netflix streaming is the bomb. I like the new dashboard.
Poking around the xbox.com website worked, as soon as I accepted the new EULA OG Xbox was back online and was immediatley called a "liar" for claiming to play counterstrike on the OG Xbox. So whatever.
Is it possible to re-configure your avatar after you've initially set it up?
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/a...4&d=1227286292
I imagine you could just go to wherever the edit profile option is and you should be able to edit your avatar there just as you would a gamerpic or a theme.
Yup, you can edit your avatar at any time. I did that since I skipped the creation part in the beginning.
I played Soul Calibur IV Story Mode off my HD, no problems. If I wanted to really test it, I'd pop in Tales of Vesperia and light up the screen over and over with Rita's Meteor Storm Burst Arte--this used to freeze, even with my 360 <200 hrs old. Haven't done it yet but plan to eventually.

Regional lockout is utter bullshit. That's one thing Sony did right this generation, though they don't really publicize it.
Speaking of regionally locked crap, how did the Netflix feature turn out? As I am not one of the 4.6% of the world that can actually use it, I'm kind of curious what MS decided I was not worthy of experiencing.
Netflix isn't a worldwide company so it wasn't MS's decision. Netflix doesn't have the licensing worked out between the movie houses to offer it to everyone.Quote:

I can't stand the feminine poses these fucking things have.
They need more girl shoe options. All I had to choose from were Crocs (oh god), uggs, dress shoes and flats. I wanted some chucks :(
Oh, neat.

Microsoft and third party publishers are going to cash in further by packaging avatar parts with NXE custom themes. From Software is testing this strategy by selling four Ninja Blade wallpapers and five ninja avatar parts into a premium bundle for 250 Microsoft Points ($3.12). Previously Xbox themes were priced at 150 Microsoft Points ($1.87), but those old themes don’t mesh with the revised dashboard well.
Apparently it was a typo - people who bought the theme report receiving no new avatar parts.
Oh gosh, that is retarded. The idea to start with a new account just irks me... o0
I don't suppose if I switch region in the account option it'll matter much huh? They just have to make it difficult for people in a similar situation like I will be experiencing when I migrate.
Fail MS....fail! :bang:

Anyone know how MyGamerCard.net does the rankings in regards to Achievements/gamerscores? I'm shown as 1 out of 359,106 for the Need for Speed: Most Wanted Achievements/gamerscores, but I'm sure there are other people out there who also have 1000/1000 gamerscore for that game as well.
http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/Ne...vatar-body.png
a spitting image
It's annoying that you can't adjust the facial features on the avatars the way you can on Miis. Also, I'm not sure why MS decided to out-gay the Miis with the body movement on the avatars.
They are all shaped like 45 year old women
You guys with high Gamer points (Melf) better watch out, if you keep playing so much MS might consider you a cheater.

So imagine this: You're a huge gamer who bought the Xbox 360 on day one. You stood in line for over 20 hours in the pouring rain, just for Microsoft's newest console. Pretty hardcore, right? It gets better. Imagine now, with me, that over the course of the past several years, you've played games on your 360 nearly every chance you got. You've racked up a huge gamerscore, only to have it all taken away one day without ANY warning.
This is story of SlapStic reader "JackTheWhack." Jack, whose real name is Jack Barbosa, not only had a huge gamerscore; he had more than any other person in the entire state of New Jersey: 121,250, in fact. He achieved this impressive score through renting via Gamefly for games that he was only mildly interested in, while he purchased many games that he thought could give him more lasting enjoyment. Obviously, with a score that high, he WAS a MASSIVE 360 fan.
So last night, while playing Mirror's Edge, Jack received an achievement that he had already gotten earlier in the day. Confused, Jack went and checked out his Gamercard, where he discovered with considerable horror that he now had a Gamerscore of 25, and that his Gamer Zone had been changed to "Cheater." He was also unable to change his Gamer Zone to anything else. This all went down with no warning from Microsoft, and not so much as a letter explaining things once they had done it. JackTheWhack had just gotten over three years of his gaming record wiped clean. There was no trial, and there was no jury. Microsoft simply assumed that he was a cheater, and took all of his Gamerpoints away from him.
This all seems very strange, especially given the fact that Jack was interviewed last Thursday to be featured as a "Spotlight Gamer." He was told that his interview would be up on the 360 dashboard in around two weeks. So at what point did Microsoft decide that instead of being worthy of attention, Jack was a dirty cheater that deserved punishment?
Jack Barbosa is no cheater, and he called Microsoft themselves to see if he could get things straightened out. They essentially informed Jack that he was just out of luck, saying that it was "abnormal for a person to achieve an undisclosed amount of achievements in such a short period of time." Jack even tried to find out what games or achievements on his gamercard were in question, but they refused to comment.
There are things working for Jack to make it seem obvious that he did not cheat. For one, he didn't get the full 1,000 points on many of his games. Like many gamers, he simply gets as many achievements as he can before moving on to the next game if things start taking too long. So with a lot of games he DOES have the full 1,000 points, but more often he has closer to 500, or even as low as 5 for games that he really didn't take a liking to.
I came upon all this information about the situation through an interview that I did with Jack. In it, he mentioned that he was selling all of his 360 products on his Amazon.com storefront. I asked him if he would consider going back to his 360 if he somehow managed to get all of his gamerpoints back, to which he responded, "I will never return to the 360, even if a new system were to be released. I would be gone." He also went on to inform me that he will be purchasing a Playstation 3 as soon as possible and that all he wants from Microsoft is a change in their policies that will keep such a thing from ever happening to anyone else.
I find the entire thing utterly infuriating
That's ridiculous but not too surprising considering MS doesn't do anything when an account is stolen.
They pull that shit with me, and my 360 is on eBay that same day. It's shit like this that makes me hate MS. It's bad enough that its products are the worst POS around, now they have to fuck with gamerscores too?
And they wonder why they're getting their asses whipped by the fucking Wii.
I read that story earlier today. The guy's a cheater. After his gamerscore got reset, he managed to work back up over 9000 gamerpoints in one day, obtaining 1000/1000 on games like Call of Duty 4. He also stated he was selling his 360, but he was back on Xbox Live the next day.
Somebody remind me again what you get for wasting so much time racking up those mundane achievements?

lol Brand's response is classic
Is MS allowing people to remove their credit cards from their Live accounts yet?
Another thing fishy about that guy's story is that he claims he found out about the gamerscore reset when he unlocked an Achievement he had unlocked earlier. If your gamerscore gets reseted, you cannot regain/unlock any Achievements that you unlocked prior to the reset; you can only unlock future Achievements you've never unlocked before.
Seriously, is gamerscore that big of a deal? Would you really sell off everything because you suddenly lost your gamerscore, Something that means absolutely jack shit? Yeah, it would suck, but it's not the end of the world. You can still play all your favorite games on Live with friends. People need to grow up. Shit happens, get a helmet.
do not cheat
faogs
Only by calling Microsoft. Outsourced call centers are RAD.
You might be able to change your CC information to an invalid number on your own so you don't get billed. This may lead to them charging you for your missed time if you eventually go back to a gold account, though.
My CC expired and my live continued for a bit, I never got charged for missed time.
Yes. Yes. that's precisely why...
It has nothing to do with gamerscore or achievement points. It has to do with - presuming that this story is true - Microsoft arbitrarily deciding who is a cheater and who isn't and fucking with their account without so much as a warning. If this dude is a cheater, then he deserves what he got. If not, then it sets a scary precedent. I don't want MS to fuck with my profile whenever it wants and without me knowing. A lot of their TOS are pure bullshit as it is, and this would take the cake.
People need to stop letting MS dick them in the ass.
So, wait, how do you cheat to get achievement points? Is he somehow duping the system into rewarding him achievements for tasks he hasn't completed or something?
Side note, I love the "Cheater" zone....
If they banned him from Live, thats one thing, but taking away achievement points and and branding him a cheater, two things that don't mean shit when it comes to playing the 360 or on Live, really isn't that big of a deal. Enjoy losing a good deal of money getting shit for your trade ins/sells and have fun using the shitty PSN to play online. Also, if he really didn't cheat, I am sure there is someway he would have been able to get this situation fixed or be compensated in some way.
