Italy and Italian women > *
Fuck no. Even if you want Euro trash women, Spain >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Italy. Plus, why the fuck would you want to speak the same language as the bitch you're banging? Deaf/mute chicks FTW.
Have you seen the deaf video in S&B? It might make you rethink your stance.
It's true. Scary.
That's a lot of shmups
Makes you sad that in the west you can't even get a fraction of that list.
:(
I bet all of those disc games are region locked too
Anyone else having issues connecting to Netflix on your box?
I connect through your mom's box, so I'm all good.
It's been taking longer than normal for my profile to log in and then to get connected to Live for me lately. The system actually hangs (no animation in the background) for 3-5 seconds while roaming around the UI as well.
Some videos, specifically the Dee Dee Ramone one, won't play.
I have some problems with a couple of Guide button functions ever since the NXE update. First, if I'm not signed into Xbox Live and I turn the system off through the Guide button (hold button down and select "turn off system"), the system won't shut completely down immediately. The power light would go out, but the fans would still run. Two seconds later, the power light will flash again and then everything will shut down. This doesn't happen when I'm signed into Xbox Live; only when I'm not signed in, and has only started happening since the NXE update.
Secondly, if I'm playing Tomb Raider: Legend and I try to exit to the dashboard through the Guide button (press button and select "Xbox dashboard"), nothing will happen. And when I try again, everything freezes. This only happens with Tomb Raider: Legend, and again only ever since the NXE update.
Does anyone know what's up?
Why the fuck would you not be connected to the hive mind, heathen?
This is a valid excuse. Proceed.
I'm a "Y" kind of guy.
There's a free holiday theme up for Gold members.
Somebody has fajah issues.
I checked the theme out on my lunch break, it's actually really nice.
So I checked this out last night, and remembered that it's not on the Guide menu screen that the problem occurs, but rather the confirmation screen that asks, "Are you sure you want to exit?" So selecting "Xbox dashboard" or pushing the "Y" button didn't matter. And I'm noticing that the problem only happens at the Tomb Raider: Legend title/menu screen or during the game if I don't pause it. If I pause the game and then exit to the dashboard, it exits normally.
This is awesome:
Quote:
A Missouri State student was able to recover his stolen Xbox 360 by use of the console's wireless technology, the student said.
The console unit's wireless controller was still registered to the specific console, allowing the stolen merchandise to be tracked down, said Ryan Ketsenburg, a sophomore construction management major.
Ketsenburg reported the incident to the Springfield Police Department on Nov. 21 at 5:48 a.m., according to a Springfield Police Department incident report.
According to the incident report, the suspect made entry into an unlocked door and stole the gaming console. As of yet, no suspect has been identified or named, according to the report.
Ketsenburg said he had just returned from a construction management trip and that both he and his roommate were tired, so they must have forgotten to lock the door.
During the night, someone entered the room and stole the Xbox while the roommates were sleeping, Ketsenburg said.
Ketsenburg, who lives in Hutchens House, said that after his Xbox was stolen, he turned on his wireless Xbox controller and found that it was still connecting to his Xbox. Based on this discovery, Ketsenburg said he realized that his Xbox must be nearby, he said.
The controller connected to the Xbox on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of Hutchens but not on the third floor and seventh floor, so through process of elimination, Ketsenburg said he figured out that the stolen Xbox must be on the fifth floor.
Following the controller's signal, Ketsenburg said he was able to pinpoint the room where his Xbox was stolen.
The Xbox 360 wireless controller has a 30-foot range, according to the Xbox Web site. When looking for his Xbox, Ketsenburg said the light-emitting diodes of the controller flashed when he was out of range.
The 5th floor resident assistant checked the alleged room where the stolen Xbox was and was able to find the Xbox, Ketsenburg said.
The controller was able to prove that the Xbox belonged to Ketsenburg, because the controller was able to turn on the console unit, he said.
The resident assistant called the supervisor and told Ketsenburg that withif he provided sufficient proof that the Xbox was his, he would be able to take it back, he said. There was sufficient proof, so the Xbox was given back, he said.
Ketsenburg said that the Xbox's hard drive was formatted, erasing all of his data. Ketsenburg said he was upset about that.
Ketsenburg said that, overall, he was annoyed by the series of the events that transpired.
Ketsenburg will be prosecuting the offender, he said. The incident report confirms this.
"I'm going to try to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, because I had to follow all the rules, so let's make sure it gets done right," Ketsenburg said.
As of the time of the interview with The Standard, the offender had not visited the room in question to realize that the Xbox had been recovered, Ketsenburg said.
Officer Terry Brant responded to Ketsenburg's police call, according to the incident report.
That is fucking awesome. Kudos to the guy for being smart enough to follow the clues.
Expect this to show up in an upcoming episode of CSI somehow.
I would but the 360 doesn't have an "ENHANCE" button
on an unrelated note, has anybody else been getting random 404's like MAD on xbox.com tonight?
I think my rear USB slot is busted. The wireless adapter won't work on it anymore. I keep getting a solid red light whenever it's plugged into it. The adapter still works with the front two USB slots .
MS doesn't believe in charging for avatar gear.
Nice to hear:
The kind of Avatar upgrading that Microsoft is interested in will involve gamers unlocking items for their Avatars through the games they are playing. The tools for this are now in the hands of developers. So when will we experience the first results? “As soon as developers get it done,” Greenberg said.
MS doesn't believe in charging for something? What?
Is that an Onion article?
I'm sure new character clothing will be locked away from silvers for a week/month/whatever it is for demos right now
You can get 13 months of gold, be able to play with all your TNL buddies, and not have the animosity of a silver subscriber being locked out for $38.98 shipped from Amazon. Honestly, you spend $11 a month on a newsgroup, $3 a month is hardly rapage for the the ability to play online with all your Live games.
I get more out of my $11/mo newsgroup account than I would out of a $3/mo live gold account (it's also closer to $60/yr here in canada) sooooooooooo
besides, I wasn't really complaining about it, just making a factual observation
Then what they do shouldn't bother you.
It bothers you that I complain about MS practice, but it really shouldn't.
Weird. Unlocking clothing through games, as kind of an extra achievement reward, is exactly what I wanted to see for the avatars. It never occurred to me that they'd actually do it.
James
Yeah, this is the best possible route. It would also be very neat if it was one of the hardest achievements to get in a game...or on certain games it could be a bonus for getting 1000/1000 or 200/200 on arcade games (this is a little ridiculous, but they'd be "worth" something then)
I tried out my Xbox Live Vision camera with the rear USB slot and it worked, so I guess the slot isn't busted after all. So now I have no idea why the wireless adapter only works on the two front USB slots and now the back one.
The adapter does not like back door action.
I'd toss it on principle alone.
I'm fully convinced that 360 USB ports are haunted. Mine has killed two charger cables and two batteries, thus far. My $5 USB keyboard, wired controller, and Vision Camera are fine, though!
Hmmm...
So yeah I'm late to the NXE party due to getting my first "red ring" experience (took only 4 months!). I don't like it. The avatars are lame as fuck and navigation is cluttered/clunky as fuck (what the fuck is up with the Wii-ish ambient music?)
I'm probably too used to the old school dashboard but I guess I don't have a choice anyway.
Oh and:
http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/ec...vatar-body.png
The old school shit is all basically still there though. The NXE is basically just a...skin or something.
I mean, you really don't need to go anywhere but "My Xbox".
t's a little weird that Netflix is under "Video Marketplace" but it all makes sense. It feels a little cluttered but...I mean, there's more to do now.
The girl clothes just suck so much. I wish I had access to some of the guy clothes, you guys have way cooler stuff. :(
Marketplace is awful now for finding the latest content. 'New Arrivals' aren't necessarily the newest releases (Rock Band tracks don't show up under that footing until a couple days after release, and even then it won't include every item that was released), and very few games in total get representation because it lists multiple pieces of DLC for any one game... 2 or 3 music games comprise 80% of the selection.
They need to go back to the old way, just give one slot for each game that has new items, and when clicked it takes you to a filtered list of items added for that game in the past month.
Except for when you want to queue the shit up and when you go to your box it says lol this content is meant for another console.
Bringing up the guide lets you do just about anything using the blade interface. I'm not in the Marketplace much so I haven't really looked at how it's organized now. If I'm buying RB tracks, I do it in-game.
I still like it a lot, it's a shit load faster to get around now.
Thing is, in the in-game RB store, you gotta download each song individually and let them sit on the loading screen until they're done. I much prefer going through the Marketplace, where you can queue up multiple background downloads and do something else in the meantime.
I've had to re-register my system three times now with Netflix.
This week's deal of the week is Halo: Combat Evolved for 600 points.
If it had online play this would be a fucking steal but as is, it runs like shit on the 360. :(
I got a bunch of points for x-mas but don't want to spend any because of deals.
Save them for more awesome things later. I currently have ALL THE POINTS.
Advocate is a HRD NGR
He's trying HRD alright.
So, I have noticed lately my Netflix has been streaming shitty when before it was awesome. I just found this out (I have Time Warner):
"It seems that Time Warner has taken it upon themselves to throttle download speeds when streaming Netflix content to the Xbox 360 via the NXE. On page 5 is the contact information for the VP of Relations at Time Warner. I'm hoping other Digg users can help us get Time Warner to stop such a blatant and gross violation of net neutrality."
http://digg.com/tech_news/Time_Warne...tflix_over_NXE
That sucks, thanks for limiting my access to an awesome service I fucking pay for.
Bullshit, that's not how it works. Sounds like the guy who wrote the Netflix article got one of those reps who makes shit up. Attention isn't paid to individual accounts, who they're connecting to, or the service they're using to connect. It probably has more to do with time of day than anything else, although I couldn't say exactly why. It's probably an area issue that needs to be looked into more closely.
James
Yes.
He's lying.
So I watched the In The Movies! trailer they had on Live and.....I think it looks kind of fun. Should I feel bad about that?
I may give the game a rental, invite some friends over for some drinksies and see what shenanigans happen. My hope is hilarious ones.
I've got a similar problem w/my wireless adapter. Doesn't work in the back or front.
This after the system rose from the grave of RRoD. MS tech support can't do anything for me (trying to pawn it off as being "too far from the router" - yeah, 15' and in the EXACT same spot as it was b/4 when it worked), and the system won't register an IP address. Huh?
So now I'm running a 50' cable from the router to the box. WTF?
They only throttle down, if they estimate you the user are going to exceed your allotted bandwidth per month. TW and Cox have the lowest allotted bandwidth for users. Comcast has one of the highest, problem is they monitor your usage heavily though.
The only answer is if you download like 10 songs, stream Netflix on Live (two shows), and troll the net per day. You might have to increase your net speeds and/or make your account a business account. On Comcast business accounts have unlimited bandwidth and the highest speeds available.
I need a little help here if anyone's got any advice, I've tried Googling up an answer and come up blank.
I got my niece Lips for Christmas and, while it's pretty much what I expected in terms of light entertainment there's a game-breaking problem- slowdown in multiplayer. It plays just fine in single player but when two people join in and one activates Lips's version of star power the slowdown is hideous, making singing the song a waste of everyone's time. I don't see this issue mentioned elsewhere, and my 360 has no problems with any other game I've tossed on it (Midnight Club LA being the latest game getting serious time out of me) so I've no idea what's causing it and how to make it stop. Anyone have any ideas?
-edit- Never mind, finally found an answer. Turns out the wireless mics and the Rock Band USB mic don't like each other at all. A quick unplug of a USB cord and all is well.
James
I finally downloaded the NXE yesterday and made my avatar. These things are so gay. The NXE sucks in general. It's prettier but less functional. I noticed half of the TNL folks in my buddy list are all wearing the exact same outfit as me. Probably because they are all so awful and we grabbed the only thing that looks half way decent.
NXE is way more functional and faster in everyway. Use the guide more for the fastest navigation. Once you know where everything is, you can access just about anything in 5 button presses or less.
I wish you could hide most of the windows on the NXE. 80% of the shit I don't need to see or use.
I can't believe anyone would think the NXE is less functional than the old dash. Especially considering nearly the entire old dash has been streamlined and integrated as the new guide button menu. The only part I can see someone making an argument for is the way the friends list displays in the NXE. Having to go through those avatars is annoying. But considering you're 2 button presses away through the guide menu from seeing the old version that's a moot point.
That's what I'm saying. I think stormy just needs to use it for longer.
But if you're just using the guide button menu, what's the point of all the flashy stuff? I love scrolling through my friend list one person at a time
When is the cutoff for wankers that have yet to update and make Avatars? I'm sick of seeing the WWE style mystery opponent black outline for some people.
I really wish MS would seamlessly combine XBL with MS Messenger and Games for Windows live. I think I have a pretty good grasp having friends on all three, but it's still not seamless.
On the 360 it shows people when they're playing a GFWL game on my friends list. I can send them messages and start a chat.
On the PC with Messenger up it just says a contact is online. Nothing about them playing a GFWL game, also nothing if they're online with the 360. I have no way to know if I'm interrupting a game or not.
I have yet to play a GFWL game so I have no idea how the app works on the PC but why such the disparity? Even if somebody doesn't have a GFWL game, Messenger should be the same app and act the same way. I should be able to do everything and have all features from one app to the next across both platforms. Make one Messenger for Windows WITH the live aspects and keep the 360 the way it is.
Is there a pink 360 faceplate out there? This is important.
Do you demand an official Microsoft one? Plenty of third-party pink faceplates exist.
Well, except the UI idea of "just throw a bunch of cover art into a straight line and call it an interface" is both lazy and not really a good solution. And, really, the new friends view is near useless unless you push the guide button and go through there.
I think overall NXE has better ideas going on than the Blade interface did, but when it fails, it fails to an immense degree, far more than the Blades did.
I have, however, come to actually like the avatars. But I guess that's hard not to do after seeing the horror that is what Sony has given us in Home. I just wish avatar creation wasn't so stupidly simple right now. (I mean, come on... we can't even have color choices for clothing or hair pieces?)
What about this? http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Skin-...1275186&sr=8-2
