Uninstalling has nothing to do with game saves, DLC, patches, or achievements. They will all still be there. You have to delete all the files associated with that game to lose everything but the achievements.

And on another point of Star Wars games, footage of the cancelled pre-alpha Battlefront 3 including some kind of neat flying in and out of the atmosphere starting at the 4:00 mark.
I would have played the shit out of that, especially if they cut the damn Jedi.
Pineapple = noob.
Or I'm not afraid to ask questions that I don't know the answers to. Learning, go figure!
And thanks Yoshi for the actual answer.
Although the Vita is changing expectations in this regard. lolSony.
$99 Xbox 360 bundle! Seems like this might be a hit for the rent-to-own crowd.
Two years of Live at $14.99 a month required. The 360 is now a cell phone.
It's a pilot program. I hope it does poorly with that monthly fee bullshit.
It's only available at MS stores and that's like 3 places on the planet. It's a good idea, it'll probably work. The cell phone contract has been engrained in the US for so long this won't seem weird and will look like a steal.
Mark my words this is going to be standard for the next gen consoles.
Its only $40 more than the non sale cost of the same hardware package and two years of gold.
That's not as awful as most payment plans are.
If this was the price of a new console I'd totally be in, as this type of a monthly payment plan would be a much easier pill to swallow instead of a flat $400. However, as a seven-year-old system I feel like it should be getting to around $99 anyway.
I payed $99 for mine a year and a half ago. It seemed fair to me.
Oh, hey, look. That word is spelled incorrectly.
He's very dismaid.
I guess I should have staid silent.
If this wasn't just in MS stores I bet you there would be a lot of people that would do this. Less upfront is appealing to people even if it's more in the end... as mentioned, there is that rent-to-own crowd. I know I wouldn't do it, but others would. The sentiment earlier that this will happen more next gen, I can see it happening for sure.
Where is this rent to own crowd? I don't think I've ever even driven past a rent a center. And I spent lots of time in Newark NJ and Watts LA.
I don't know those areas, but the only places I've seen Rent-A-Centers in my city are in the black neighborhoods. Getting close to Christmas I also see people doing layaway in clothing stores which always surprises me.
Anyone here remember Ames? My fiance used to work there in the late 90's in a fairly big town that was next to some other wealthy towns in CT. She said people came in there all the time to get engagement rings and put them on layaway. Sometimes people just don't have the money and those people still want the "nice things" that others have, so they take advantage of any kind of "deal" they can. I know people that used Rent-A-Center so they could get a nice big screen HDTV but only made $9/hour.
Layaway is a helpful tool for people who cant save money on their own. Rent a center and its ilk is just a way to rip off poor people. My chick used to work at one. The stories she has...
If democrats really cared about poor people they would outlaw this shit. As well as "pay day loans".
Didn't Shaq used to shill for a rent-a-center? Or was it Magic?
Hulk Hogan did/still does.
Magic did.
Troy Aikman does afaik.
Layaway is just putting the shit aside. You end up paying the same price.
Rent a Center is a scam and should be outlawed. I know they exist (obviously), I just don't know where they are or who shops there.
That was my wage when I bought my 50". If anything, people with lower wages have more of a reason to stay away because they'll end up spending so much more.I recognize why it's there but it just never clicks for me that it's a real thing. Unless it's something super expensive like a house or car I tend to see purchases as a flat, "I can buy it now or I can't." Having the store hold onto an object for months just strikes me as odd.Quote:

And slavery wasn't. Point?
That a caveat emptor society doesn't work.
Ask Spain, Greece, etc. how the alternative extreme works.
I'm with you there. That makes a whole lot more sense than more regulations.
Rent-A-Center isn't providing anything to the economy. It is just a parasite that leeches off people. We used to let quacks put any shit in a bottle and sell it as a medicine, we don't anymore. Society is better off.
Greece and Spain are faltering because they don't have the tools to manage their own economy. Bankers loaned the countries money at artificially low rates because they were on the Euro. Now they are in the shitter and they can't manipulate their currency to manage this because they are on the Euro. Spain was actually doing really, really well until 2008, with low amounts of debt and a growing economy. They got destroyed by the financial crash and don't have the tools to get out of it that nations on their own currency do.
I once would've said "I know Yoshi knows this." Now I won't.
Should we ban movie rentals too? If people are fucking idiots and decide to rent a movie for six months, it must be Blockbuster's fault. The same applies to GameStop's used business. They're reselling the same product that they (maybe) bought from the manufacturer once. Any used or rental model is arguably a parasite.
Will this happen before or after all the bond vigilantes punish the US for its deficit spending? Because all the clowns of your ilk have been predicting that since... oh, 2009 or so (convenient!). Interest rates just keep going down though!
We've become a disaster since beginning to follow Europe's model of government should do everything regardless of cost too. There's no doubt. And, no, it didn't start in 2009. It just got worse.
So, Minecraft.
Keep a Blockbuster new release for a week and what do you pay? Easily 2x its new cost. I have no idea why you brought a service like Netflix into this.
I believe there are people who only use Rent-A-Center to get a huge TV for the Super Bowl for example, so they do have customers that aren't complete idiots who get bent over for years.
Hey look, I just got an email from Netflix:
Quote:
Dear David,
Thanks for being a member of Netflix. Recently, you switched to a streaming only plan. We noticed that you still have There Will Be Blood at home. Since you are now on a streaming only plan, we ask that you please return this disc within 7 days.
If you decide to keep it, your account will be charged $14 for each regular DVD and $20 for each Blu-ray disc plus tax.
If you have already sent this disc to us, please accept our thanks. We will email you a confirmation as soon as we receive it.

YOU'RE ON WATCH NOW, MOTHERFUCKER.
I brought up netflix because...they rent videos?
I have no idea what point Dave is trying to make. That's more like returning your cable box when you cancel service than a rental.
Also: blockbuster doesnt charge you twice the cost of the video. They charge you the msrp.
And i see your point concerning walking into blockbuster and renting without a plan versus netflix which you can only use if you have a plan.
But renting is renting. Rent to own is a different type of animal. Its a predator of the weak and i would like to think there are enough ways to make money in America without swindling poor people out of the little money they have.
When i submit my bill to outlaw rent to own services, it will have a section for televangelists as well.
Prior to the purchase or on the sales contract, does Rent-A-Center disclose the total price of the product after all payments are made?
My chick says they were required to read the contract to the customer (which does disclose total amount the person will pay) but more often than not the customer would tell them not to read it, they didnt care. They just wanted that $2000 ps3.
Resistance: Fall of Man is just that irresistible.
How else are they going to play blurays on their $8000 32" hdtv?
And they'll be more than happy to sell you a book/CD bundle (not including S+H) AND let you join an exclusive site for only $20 a month!
I got my first ever RROD. Costs $99 to fix it with a 90 day warranty. Should I go that path or try and find a deal on a new one? I figure if I can find a package deal and flip the shit that it comes with I could end up with a new one for not much more than $99.
You have the right idea.
There have been sales where a 4 gig system is 149.
150 new system with 1-3 year warranty>100 refurb with 90 warranty that in all likelihood will rrod again anyways.
You can easily sell your dead system or parts it out and make back the $50 difference, if not more.
Wait for E3. Price drops are rumored.
You can get a brand new Xbox 360 for 99 bucks if you sign up for two years of live.
I agree. Buy a 360 4gb on sale (or wait for probable e3 drops) and put your old hard drive in the new machine with one of those $5 ebay kits. Sell your old jam for parts. That's pretty much what I did last year, except I still have my unrepaired system.
$99 is highway robbery for a reflow.
Buying anything other than the new S model is silly these days... you're asking for trouble.
Madden 12 is $10 at Best Buy today only.
I want to start Defense Grid over from the beginning. I deleted my save local and cloud) and the game still starts up with my save game loaded. I delete the whole fucking game and redo load and start up and it still loads my fucking save what the fuck?
2 new video apps are available today. Manga and Muzu.
What? Make a new profile. Play the game. What's the problem?
Oh man, Mangle Entertainment has an app now? Ugh.
Man, where's CrunchyRoll and Funimation already?
Use it just to play the game. Don't be an asshole.
Marlo.jpg
What's Muzu? Xbox is becoming more and more like Roku where there is just a ton of shit I will never use. Manga is kind of cool since all that shit was pulled from NetFlix Instant, but I'm a creature of habit and if it isn't on Hulu or Netflix I probably won't watch it.
If you Bing search whatever you want to watch on the dashboard, it'll show you a list of what services have what you're looking for. It's way better than launching each app and searching that way.
I'm terrified of the All Seeing and All Hearing Xbox so I unplug the Kinect every time I am done cutting fruit out of the air with a plastic sword.
Muzu.tv is music videos.
Typing with a game paddle can eat it.
You can use a keyboard. I have one of those keyboard controller joints.
do bluetoof keyboards work? That'd be legit.
The issue with this is that I rarely use my Xbox 360, I use my PS3 more since I like the interface better for NetFlix and Hulu (plus it has Amazon). Then if I search something and it's on an app like Epix which I can't use it is useless to me. I will admit that I don't think of that feature much though, so maybe I should start getting in the habit. Do those searches count towards Bing rewards? :) hehe
Like VEVO? I'll check it out.
The PS3 can do Amazon videos now? Oh snap.
I use a chatpad on my 360. It makes responding to nasty messages, playing quarrell, entering download codes, and searching for youtube videos way easier.
Does it affect the usability of the controller at all? It looks like it would get in the way of my pinkies and second fingers.
No. It makes it a bit heavier but I play games with it on the controller all the time.
Cool.
Is it supported by the windows driver yet? That would make it a must buy for me.
I want to play Catherine again, but I remember it being stupid hard last time.
Is this true? I'd go search, but search is weak on mobile.
There is an easy mode.
Josh isn't talking about your mother.
Lately when I turn on my 360 it just shows a little swirly symbol for about 3 minutes. Then, once the dashboard finally pops up if I go into Games Library or Quickplay or Apps I get the swirly symbol for another 3 minutes. Then, before I can download anything from marketplace (or start playing a game) it has to take another 3 minutes to synchronize my cloud saves. And I have to start the whole process over if I go from one game or app back into the dashboard.
Is this affecting anyone else? Is it because I have the old black elite and I need to upgrade to the slim, or is it just from all the fuckery they've done to the dashboard over the years?
