Today's news indicates that the Iraqi government wants us out by 2011. My question is: why wait until 2011? We the People wanted this thing over in 2006. That's why we put Democrats back in charge of Congress. Obama will sworn in (most likely) on January 20, 2009. He will also (most likely) have a supermajority in the Congress. We could reasonably bail on that shithole before June, with minimal American casualty.

"We'll get out quickly... I mean, I'll listen to the generals... and uh, well, we'll see..." doesn't stir my loins with confidence.

Is it uneeded, or... is it TNL?

When was the last time you donated to the ACLU or any other civil liberties advocacy group? Libertarians in my personal experience=90% "I dun wanna pay fer nuthin" coservatives.

i'd say he's got about a 1 out of 3 chance at having a supermajority right now

though i don't believe a supermajority is necessary for him to act in iraq

in matters of foreign policy the president has a great deal of power relative to congress

I don't support the ACLU financially because they're the ACLU. They're driven by an agenda that goes beyond the protection of our civil liberties, and I don't always agree with it.

Which agenda is that? I've seen them defend Limbaugh, hell.
