Although anecdotally I have seen younger veterans and current members of the armed forces to be more in favor of Obama. I'd be interested in seeing how the Vets polled age's correlate to their choice.

$4-5 minimum. it's not your server's fault you order cheap shit.

Do you keep a tally? Also, do you add or subtract for going over time? Do you want a fast meal or are you tipping extra for taking longer to eat your food? Does that time just represent how long it takes to get your food, because 20 minutes is not that much time.

Time from placing order to meal on the table. Cooks get a cut of the tip, so if it's their fault the foods late it's up to the waiter, your sevice rep, to hustle their ass. There are certain exceptions to the rule, like steak.


EDIT: And I have a high metabolism and drink a lot, so I also don't want to go thirsty. Ever.

I also agree with Burg min tip $3/person, max tip $20/person

I tip more than 20% for places I go often, or somewhere where I get awesome/enthusiastic service. If you live off your tips you still have to earn those tips. I'm not tipping more than you're worth, and if you suck I'm not tipping you at all.

What places tip out the cooks? Is this something that happens at chain restaurants, because no place I have ever worked gave any tips to the cooks.
