I saw some homeless motherfucker walking on a sidewalk the other day. I was so pissed. I paid for that sidewalk.

I'd say he should walk in the grass, but I'm fairly certain that was planted.

Why is it we're pretty much the only western nation without some form of Universal Health Care then? There's no reason people should not be able to afford to go to the doctor when they get sick.

Who pays for this "right"? Honestly, if Americans want Universal Health Care I'm fine with that. You CANNOT force me to pay for it. That's my objection. Why do the Canadians I know come down here to get shit done instead of waiting 6 months for it up there?

I'm not saying that we should not work for a better world. But xaying people have rights to things on the grounds that it would put more sunshine in their day is silly.

Spending tax dollars for collectivist concepts like national security, public schools, highways, etc. is technically socialist, too but they're considered necessary in capitalist countries and so they don't get the stigma of that label. The world outside the US doesn't use the term "socialized health care" because it's like saying "socialized mail system "or "socialized police force".
