Suicidal drive, IMO.
Is Obama still slightly ahead on the count? I COMPLETELY expect them to pull the "oh, Florida and Michigan count now" card at any moment to steal it for Hillary.
Bull-shit.
Huck'bee is doing better than I expected.

Why are stupid democrats voting for a party establishment, corporate sell out. I mean that works sooooo well in 2004. I'm hard left (socially) but I recognize that there's a strong centrist candidate with genuine charisma that isn't a B-Lister (like my usual favs).
No, Obama's trailing by a decent, but surmountable, amount.
Hillary is sweeping up stupid California, but like I said, those idiots are still voting for Edwards apparently.
For a lot of lefties politics boil down to "Bush=Bad, Clinton=Good" because they don't remember a time when there wasn't a Clinton or a Bush in the White House. The left has their dream candidate, a charismatic socialist that gets support from across the board (plus he didn't vote to authorize the war), and they're going to throw that away for another round of scandals with the Clintons and their shameless three card monte act.
Back before he sold out and became a useless sack of shit clone of Dubya who can't say what he thinks any more.
If they stuck McCain in a cryogenic chamber in 2000 and thawed him out now he'd be elected for sure, but there's nothing left of that man now. His spirit has be broken.
Don't look at me, I voted for Obama.

I was awestruck that Hillary pulled ahead on Super Tuesday. I didn't vote because I don't have a candidate worth voting for but damn it came as a shocker.
I will wait for the final tally. I hate this projection bullshit.
You people do realize there's over a thousand delegates on both sides unclaimed, right?
Yes, now sit the fuck down.
Don't pretend like you have the faintest fucking idea what's going on. Just sit back, swallow your pride, and let the adults talk. You might learn something.
I guess this means proportional voting is good, then? I mean, it keeps the race competitive almost all the way till the end unless you've got a single outstanding candidate. However, it also gives the Super delegates a lot more power than they really should have. I mean, the whole point of primaries was to keep the party bosses from selecting the candidates.
Please let the Democrats not be stupid and go with Obama.
Enjoyed his speech last night. Kicked the shit out of the other two's.
In fight amongst Democrats on TNL, in fight amongst democrats on TV, in fight amongst democrats in the senate. Etc etc.
Yeah you guys sure know how to build a solid front.
Because everyone on the Republican side is soooo happy with McCain.
Probably not, but we aren't out douching it up on national tv every five seconds.
McCain is going to win, lol.
I will vote for McCain.
Sorry dems, your shitty 2 front war isn't working out for you. I've actually seen it done better on an episode of Dallas.
He could beat Hillary, if he lives that long.
Oh he and Dicky C share the sith powers, he'll live to be 109.
WHY ISN'T DICK CLARK DEAD YET?
Yeah, him too.
We're going to see some pretty scummy shit out of the Clinton campaign in the next three weeks. The next round of primaries favor Obama. It's time for establishment Republicans to swallow their pride and support McCain.
Romney sucks too.
Polygamy, imo.
Romney would probably be winning right now if he marketed himself to voters as a master of the economy. Instead he embraced this feeble social conservative persona that flies in the face of his record as Governor of Massachusetts. People are sick of Bush, they're not going to elect a guy trying so hard to be Bush-like. One of McCain's selling points is that he's the anti-Bush. I know some of you are going to say he sold out to Bush or whatever because he didn't try to take down his party but that's just tired nonsense.
You wake up. Maybe you haven't heard of a little word called "Mavrick"?
Based on McCain's previous 71 years on earth I highly doubt he's going to morph into W for the next 4.
A party puppet? The guy is being vilified by conservative talk radio and the Republican establishment for going against his party constantly. I can't think of a politician that's less of a party puppet than John McCain. He sponsored a bill with Ted fucking Kennedy last year.
As shitty as the republican party has been for the last 8 years I'm honestly amazed anyone would vote for anyone not embarrassed to be on the Republican ticket.
Not the Republican party for the last 8 years, Bush for the last 4. Also keep in mind that the alternative is Hillary Clinton.
I told you all a year ago that McCain had sold himself out to get ahead in the party. Here is my prediction coming true. The only thing I can take solace in is that try as he might to woo the far-right idiots they just couldn't bring themselves to like him, thereby making his betrayal of his own principles ultimately worthless.
Hey, shouldn't you be birthdayin' it up?
Nah, weekend son.
Correct.
Healthcare really ought to be the number one issue behind the economy. I've been transcribing several interviews about the ethics concerning dropping Medicare and Medicaid patients, non-paying and uninsured patients, and patients with not enough coverage, and it's really depressing.
There are 47 MILLION uninsured people in this country?
Yeah, the resistance from people on this issue is just fucking retarded. It's either bizarrely social darwinist or just calling people communists.
There's really no good reason for the healthcare industry to be run the way it is. There's a need for drastic reform, be it government-run or cracking down on the privately run system so it can't deny coverage, and pharmecitical companies can't charge the outrageous prices they do. The system needs to be gutted one way or the other. No excuses.
And, by the way, both of those options amount to the same fucking thing. People freak out when any thing adds to taxes, but paying is paying if it's something you have to do. You pay for your fucking health insurance now. Just think of the government as your HMO.
Props to a lot of doctors for trying to work around the system and/or provide charity care, at their own personal expense.
Good luck and stopping the lobbyists for both pharmaceuticals and health care. They have deep pockets and, unfortunately, politicians rely on those deep pockets to run for any office. Many people will sell their self-respect and dignity if it meant gaining some power and earning some more scratch.
As an uninsured American it is vital to me for health care to be available to everyone. I work just to get by it's not right to also make me have to give up what I can't afford for some decent health care.
Universal health care is cool and all, but it's... not really fucking free. It's pretty depressing when you look from your Gross income down to your net after the fees get taken off. I mean, I shell out $300 a month for NHS, then they take off tax on top of that. I got $844 taken off of my last paycheck from the guvment. Jesus Christ, I barely have enough to get through the rest of the month.
Basically the only difference I've seen is that the hobos have better wheelchairs here.
According to TIME, Romney will announce he is out of the race today.
DMC4 cost me $50. Health care would cost me $350 a month. That means I still won't be able to move out on my own, pay more than the minimum on my student loans, or buy a car.
I'm the last person to make stupid purchase decisions. I know what needs to be paid off and try to manage it. Right now I'm just stuck in a point where I'm not making enough to pay for what I need. It's why I'm holding two jobs and still looking for a better one in my field.
I know how universal health care works. But right now I'm paying to Medicare/Medicaide and I don't even qualify for it. I may as well pay for something I can use.
I fully support not paying into anything I don't use. I'll continue to donate to children and animal charities. Everyone else can die.
I still think universal health care is a good idea.
I also believe that those who haven't worked in five years and are able-bodied enough to do some form of work should be killed and made into food/mulch to benefit society.
I wrote a manifesto about it.
Seriously, I have a manifesto. The small number of people I've shown it to think I'm nuts but I think it works.
I find it hard to not be bitter when I see a hobo rolling by in a wheelchair and a lap full of hooch. I may feel different if I get sick, but as it stands I'm just funding hobos.
My dad does this all the time. He also doesn't force people to pay.
Not to say he shouldn't do it, but I wonder how he stays in business after you take into account how many claims Medicare and Medicaid lose everyday that his clinic files. It is fairly certain that it done intentionally as it is a pretty consistent percentage.
Also, huge cuts in compensation are coming down the line on those programs.
Yep. Doctor like his dad before him. Owns his own family clinic. Does everything from flue shots, to X-rays and minor laser surgery.
EDIT: there really isn't any point in making fun of my spelling. I get it from him.
It was nice of him to adopt you.
don't know why you bother. I'm not going to flip out like zerohero or that guy that you kept harassing about having sex or beating his son. I don't really care one way or another about your thoughts on my Dad.
Think about it this way, right now (going into the hypothetical), the medical companies get $10 million to make drugs, and 80% of us get it. If medical companies could get the same $10 million, and all of us got it, who exactly is that hurting? The production of the drugs isn't the expensive part, its the research.
The only problem with making it really cheap now is the medical companies would get $1 million instead of $10, so there has to be some government intervention.
Everyone in favor of universal health care should take a hard look at how much it will cost (in dollars and beaucracy). If you still want it, just know what you're getting.
Whatever happens the current system isn't working, HMO's and pharmaceutical companies are mostly out of control.
Hillary helped create HMO's as they currently exist and she takes assloads of money from the drug companies and insurance companies (more than any other candidate on either side of the aisle), let's elect her to fix the problem.
That was the thinking that got us a second Bush term anyway.
I vote for them.
lol. "Vein-y Rack 2008"
I totally agree (something quite rare in our political discussions). However, I must take issue with your last sentence.
I can think of a dozen reasons why this is an absolutely terrible idea, all based on personal experience. I don't like to go into details of my source of employment, but you know that I'm not talking out of my ass here.Quote:
Just think of the government as your HMO.
Drastic health care reform needs to happen, and it needs to happen yesterday. But turning the entire parcel over to the government in the form of a massive federal HMO? That's just asking for trouble.
The REAL problem with healthcare (insurance) today is its run as a for profit venture, not as an actuary or trust situation. Originally you paid money to the group, they'd grow and invest the money as well as negotiate on their client's behalf with the regional healthcare providers for benefits (checkups, competitive prices ect...) for their membership to bring down prices and perhaps provide steady revenue streams for the providers.
However, when you introduce a corporate structure, the group is no longer responsible to its customer base (which wants low prices, good healthcare, benefits) but the investors who want maximum profit. Meaning they'll edge up the prices when they can, pay the doctors less, deny treatment and other business practices. Its about a shift in priorities.
Obama swept the three primaries yesterday and now has a small delegate lead over Hillary (not including superdelegates). Including superdelegates, Hillary has a small lead. It's starting to look like Obama will get the most votes and delegates but DNC superdelegates will give the nomination to Hillary anyway.
It boggles the mind that anyone takes Hilary seriously as a candidate. My g/f is going to vote for her in the primaries and I'm completely at a loss to why. My hope is they go for the brokered convention, give Obama the nod with the understanding that Hilary's voters will go for Obama but Obama's voters won't go for Hilary.
I can't wait for the DNC. It'll be like 1968 Chicago all over again, but the riots will be inside.

Check out that deepthroat action and then tell me she doesn't have your vote.
That's not really what I meant, though. I just meant that you're still paying someone who provides insured healthcare. People freak out because it's a tax, but you're still paying for something and getting something in return.I would think most independents are not especially conservative right now. The pendulum is swinging liberal right now thanks to Bush.
It doesn't matter, the Democratic candidate is going to win. John McCain's strengths alienate him from the scum of the earth (far right republicans) and his weaknesses diminish what appeal he still has with true independents (100 years of war? lol). If Obama gets the nod, somehow, he'll win the general by at least 10 percentage points. Hillary will win in a clincher 51 / 49 split and cowled mutants like Rush Limbaugh will sacrifice a Mexican child on the grave of Ronald Reagan in thanks.
lol You're even more out of touch than I thought.
lol, if it's any consolation, I'm not going to make any Almaci style bets on the outcome.
I wouldn't let you. You have the class to stick to it, and I don't want to lose you. :portalhug:
I hope you know the kind of love I have for all of you. Let today be a new day, to put aside all the petty arguments and come together for one big JO party.
Apparently Hilary is running out of steam on the money side of things. She had to loan her party 4 million of her personal money as until the recent fund raising binge took effect. The Democrats would be foolish to not let Obama take the reigns. His calls to action seems to get people to actually move on issues.
Money politics doesn't really tell us anything. Remember Mitt Romney was swimming in dough and yet couldn't keep his head above water because he was a such a fucking phoney. Obama's recent wins have been entirely on the force of his personality, but it's still a long road to Denver. Never count the Clinton's out, especially when there are still all those free radicals in the equation like super delegates and the unseated Michigan and Florida delegates.
Naturally, but good luck getting it through the heads of our entitlement-minded society.
Independents are perpetual fence-sitters, and they (well, we) are McCain fanatics. Here's a quick Clinton/McCain breakdown, though:Quote:
I would think most independents are not especially conservative right now. The pendulum is swinging liberal right now thanks to Bush.
-One is a pro-war far-lefty and a polarizing figure.
-One is a pro-war moderate that appeals to the right (when push comes to shove) and the center, and is revered as a war hero.
This one really isn't that hard.
Of course, all bets are off if Obama captures the nomination by some miracle. He might be further to the left than Clinton, be he's also highly likable and electable.
This would be the situation that invalidates everything I just said, but it's not going to happen. Democrats just seem to have a hard-on for really, really bad candidiates lately.
This is truly a sad day in American history.

MCain has done well in the primaries (where Republicans have had a much lesser turnout than Democrats) in a lot of states that Republicans don't win in the general election. He's won because he was the farthest from the right compared to Romney and Huckabee. If he can't make those wins carry over to November, he'll be in big trouble, and judging from the hard time he's having winning over conservatives, he has his work cut out for him.
