my buddy got his face bit off

I was not a fan of the "Pit" either.
Than i moved in with this cat that a American Staffy.
Most loving dog i have ever encountered. EVER.
All he wanted was love. Never bit. He would bark at you upon first seeing you. Than all he wanted was to be petted.
He was mistreated by his previous owners so much he was scared if you took off your shoes. My room mate being the animal lover he is treated that dog with love and raised it properly. I am now a fan of the breed and hope in the future i can be lucky enough to have a Pit as good as the one he had.
Its been said before but it really is the owners and not the dogs fault.
I meen shit Chow's are mean as fuck according to some people. And i've seen Shepard's do some really bad shit to people.
I think the big reason alot of pits are looked at as bad is becus they are associated with gang members and other such fuck heads.

I'm not saying Pit Bulls are bad dogs, I'm saying they need more work than other dogs. Especially if it's the only dog you own. Pitbulls tend to be much better when they grow up around other dogs.

I'm saying favoring pit bulls and implying they're less likely to attack is silly. They're rowdy by nature since they're bred for bull-baiting or whatever, and they're tenacious fighters, and that can be a handful for someone who doesn't know dogs that well.

If you're like PaCrappa, you know dogs, and you have several other dogs, go for it.

Dalmatians are hard to train. They're dumb.

Poodles are the fucking devil. I am serious. Stupid looking dogs have the most to be pissed off about.

This is so incredibly true. Our neighbors had a dalmatian and it was just retarded. They tried so hard to train that dog and it just ran into the street all the time. They were terrified that he'd get run over so they got an electric fence- now the dog just ran through it, into the street, while yelping from the slight shock.

Nice dog, but it was dumb. :( He did end up getting hit by a car, but he thankfully survived.

I can't say I'm feeling a lot of sympathy for the guy. I love animals, and people who confuse living things with toys and status symbols, with the resulting outcome of getting it killed, aren't going to be high on my list of people I feel bad for.

Most pitbulls I've met have been pretty cool dogs, but I'm still a big fan of rottweilers. That's another breed I hear endless horror stories about, none of which get backed up by personal experience.

Not if raised right, their problem is they are actually hunting dogs and have become pidgenholed as lapdogs. if you dont give them a lot of exercise, they can be like any highly energetic kid who is very smart and bored off his butt. i run ours twice a day(time permitting) and play catch with him, his attitude is just fine, just dont sit him around like a throw pillow and not expect him to find his own fun. also be ready for a lot of hair maintainence, they dont shed, but their hair matts easily, because it was insulation for when they hunted and swam for birds.
