There's not much info yet but it's by Ron Gilbert and described as "Monkey Island meets Diablo" so I imagine it will be a funny take on the ARPG genre.

Well, it's off to a good start in the concept art department-

I think that kind of sucks but it is just concept art.
It's Ron Gilbert. I have faith.
I think I've seen this movie.
I guess this is out today, but it's not up on marketplace yet.
It is if you queue it up via the website using a completely orphaned URL. MS is a pile of incompetent boobs. http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/ga...of=0&bt=0&sb=0
It's on marketplace now too.
But is it good?
I bought it.
This seems like the type of game I'd love. I'll give it a shot when I get home, just wish it had legit multiplayer not lolmariogalaxy multiplayer.
I kinda love it, but I get the feeling it's going to be really short. So, 15 bucks. Choose wisely. I'm sure you can figure out if you'd like it just by doing the trial though. Also, this game would be awesome in 2D.
Ok, it's longer than I thought it was gonna be.
From what I've read it's around 8-10 hours long if you do everything, but there are lots of repetitive fetch quests and the like. It wasn't online yesterday when it should've been so I haven't had a chance to play it yet. I'll do so when I get home. Anyone have any thoughts one way or the other?
The fetch quests are fine because the combat is a lot of fun, and the dialogue/voice acting is fantastic. Pretty much everything the kotaku review said, I agree with.
I tried the demo and it had production value out the wazoo! Love the animated intro, the visuals, the character portraits, the voice acting...too bad the actual game part is so damn boring. It somehow becomes okay for a loot-quest to be "spam A and X mindlessly for the win," just because its pretty to look at? Or does it get better later on?
Uh... there are ranged weapons, and uhm, you can dispense justice.
Later on the game encourages you to work on your weapon combos, so it's not quite so repetitive as it seems at first.
What annoys me is the eating sound effect. I know my sister, who loves these kinds of games, switched from "Ooh, wanna play!" to "Ugh, no thanks!" (not verbatim, by the way) after I fed Deathspank a few drumsticks.

Yea.
Shit I so agree. But only if he signs all his posts Jams.
So I've been playing this and I have to say I absolutely love it. Easily my game of the month for July. It just has an old school feel to me. It reminds me of PC games from the late 80s early 90s, probably my favorite time period for PC games. It has a charm and a feel to it that sets it apart from a lot of the other games out there.
Deathspank 2 is out.
From the ign review:
"Thongs of Virtue picks up a while after DeathSpank left off, with the hero having defeated who he thought was his arch nemesis -- only to learn there are others in the circle of evil that need be brought to justice. While this sequel does feel very much like the original and sends you on the same sorts of quests, you will be travelling to quite different locales. Gone are the mostly fantasy areas of DeathSpank. Here you'll be visiting battlefields that recall World War II, the Old West, and robot factories. You can play with a bunch of fun new weapons and battle new enemies."
The rest of the review is here.
I started playing last night, but there was an annoying ass bug that kept popping up a "leaderboard error" message every time I did ANYTHING, so I gave it a rest for the night. It was funny so far though.
