GOD EA SUCKS

DLC expansion's out. Impressions soon.
Ok, here's what I think of the map pack:
1) It's small. There are 9 maps, and 2 of those are variations. They're strictly Time Trial mode, and each one is like 1-2 minutes long for a non-sucky run. They're nice and compact for time trial runs, but obviously much shorter than the main levels.
2) They're completely abstract, based on geometric shapes and such, which is probably a cheap way of keeping the download small, but it really does make for some unique designs that weren't possible in the main game. Fewer right angles and such.
3) The maps are actually really well designed if you're into the game. Each one has a different sort of motif (visually and design-wise) to emphasize different parts of the gameplay. They can be a bit intimidating, and I'd say they're generally a little on the hard side, but that's good for DLC.
So, basically, there's not a huge heaping helping of content here, and nothing that will interest anyone who isn't into playing for times, but for the hardcore it's definitely quality.
PC/Steam release pls.
I just beat this game (and it was balls awesome) but I can't get the DLC because I bought the Steam version.
Screw PC gaming. Sure, I might have been stuck with 720p or whatever on the 360 but at least I could play the whole frigging game.
Assholes.
lol
The really entertaining thing here is that the Steam version of Mirror's Edge cut out the SecuROM DRM. A good thing, right? Not when the premium (sigh) DLC requires the shitted-up executable file for its installation.
By the time Dice/EA figured this out, the dev team had already been moved to other projects and EA doesn't want to spend the money to fix their own game.
I doubt it'll happen again but fuck EA and Valve for this.
I finally got around to getting this game after wanting it since before it released.
Sooooooo so good, one of my favorite gaming experiences in a long time.
Amazingly classy and the sense of "world" is so well done.
Still not very far, only a few hours in so far...
<3 the soundtrack!
It gets worse when they start throwing you up against lots of enemies...but only if you choose not to shoot. There are way too many times when combat is near-forced or outright forced.
I didn't end up being too impressed by the game's story mode, but the time trials were the fucking jam.
