Damn, a tragic loss indeed. Isn't it funny how you never notice you lost them for years, then one day you really want to wear something an it's gone. I had that happen about 2 years ago, I had an awesome ass up in smoke skully that I wanted to wear for halloween. I couldn't find it and I show up to the party and my friend had the EXACT same skully, now maybe 20 of these exist in the world. However he insisted it was his and I had to give him the benefit of the doubt.
