Breaking Bad

Amazing that there isn't a topic about this show. Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, is a chemistry teacher going through a mid-life crisis and so he turns to making meth.

This is dark humor as it's best. Bryan Cranston is perfect for this role. There's just something about him that makes you feel sorry for the guy the entire show.

The only downside of the show was that I caught the TV-14 version of it. When it originally premiered, it was TV-MA with full blown cussing and from what I've read, maybe nudity (tits). Some guy said that they were going this route in hopes of HBO or Showtime picking up the show, but since they didn't, AMC did. They decided to premiere it with no commercials (hence why they were able to get away with the cussing and nudity), but all the encore showings had commercials and so they censored the cussing and the nudity scene was different (I think) since she had a bra on.

Nevertheless, the show is pure genius. Only the pilot has aired. The next episode on this Sunday night.

I liked what I saw of this, so I'm looking forward to more. I really love Malcolm in the Middle, and the dad is one of the main reasons why, so I'm going to support this guy in whatever he does.

I made it about halfway through the pilot before wandering off. Didn't really grab me.

Sounds like weeds.

Watched the pilot and I'm digging it. It's kinda, sorta like Weeds, but it's not. I like Cranston a lot so I wanted to check this out. I'm curious to see where his life goes from here so I'm going to stick with the show. High hopes for this one.

The acid in the tub had me rolling. I really thought it was going to leak through all the way to the basement to kill the other dude.

"Heads or tails?" I kinda got a No Country for Old Men vibe during this scene.

I gotta look for episode 2, I missed it.

3rd episode was tonight and it was great, this show rules.

Marathon of the first 3 eps running now. We just saw the first and it rules.

I finally caught the latest episode (I DVRed it, but I ran out of space and only saw half of it).

The show seriously gets better each week.

- The opening scene was hilarious as he was thinking back to when he was writing about what the human body was made of as he was cleaning the body. Flushing it down the toilet was the icing on the cake.
- When he started putting the plate together and saw he was missing a piece was very tense. I really felt bad for him knowing that he had no option left but to kill him.
- The murder scene was disturbing. Getting away with that on TV is murder. No pun intended.

I love it.

I really hope this show picks up a big fan base and gets to run it's course. It's one of my favorite shows now.

After the first episode, we were hooked here. Didn't plan to spend 3 hours in front of the TV, but it's great stuff. Everyone I've told about it is now intrigued. I could see this catching on, but everybody knows that good TV shows never last. :(

Keep telling people about it, I am. It's on a channel that I think most people don't even know they have so it's an uphill climb.

Well, if the first episodes are available on demand as they said, it should help a lot. I've already instructed people to look for them, so here's hoping they actually find them there. :D

It's a very good show, but man, I fucking hate it whenever AMC comes out with a new original series. Every minute that they're not airing the show is spent shoving it down your throat with non-stop commercials, promos, interviews, etc. It's so fucking annoying.

Tonight's episode kind of bugged me. I'm not really sure that I understand what's motivating Walter at all now. I hope things get better next episode.

I loved this weeks episode. After all is said and done, he can't swallow his pride. He has a very strong past with the guy at the party and what looks like a physical one with his wife. Whatever past he had with them, he can't take their money. So now to appease his wife he's going go through with treatment, but go back to cooking to do it. Back to lying to everyone...Walter and the drug kid have come full circle and know they need each other now.

I love this show so much.

Oh, it definitely had awesome moments. The intervention backfire, Pinkman busting out the science talk and throwing out batch after batch of perfectly good crystal. I just thought the agreement to get treatment was kind of sudden. I mean, for plot reasons, it obviously had to happen, but I didn't quite like how it was set up. Next episode looks awesome, though.

I'm worried because the season only has, what, 2 episodes left? When will more come after that? :(

I don't think it was all that sudden. He realized it was do or die, I think he's going to try for his son more than anything. Sleeping on things can help you chose for hard decisions.

I haven't seen anything on how this show is doing, hopefully it gets picked up. Most networks are seeing this season as a wash and are going to be preparing for next year.

Finally got around to watching the latest episode. Good shit.

Just watched the first season. Shitty it was only 8 episodes, as this show really is the shit.

I saw the episode with the broken plate and the dude tied up in the basement.

It was very good, but a bit over-dramatic. Every little thing does not need its own shot and moment of pondering.

Those were some pretty dire circumstances there. That whole kill em or not is a hard thing to wrestle with.

Season 2 starts this Sunday at 10 pm!

I'm not reading this thread yet, but I just saw the first two episodes and will be catching up on the whole series as fast as possible. I haven't laughed as hard at anything on tv as I did at the end of episode 2, where the gooey remains of a drug dealer come crashing through the ceiling when the acid used to dissolve him eats through the bath tub and the floor. :lol:

Last nights episode was another solid one, the stakes are raised again. I love how they keep moving this show at a breakneck speed. It's like every event is a major one.

Finally watched the first episode of the season along with last nights episode.

Tuco could be the most intense tv show villain I've ever seen. You had no idea wtf he was going to do.

The whole bell scene with all the dings was extremely nerve wrecking.

Someone at another site noticed that the hydraulics on Jesse's car was a symbol of Tuco's heartbeat. He got shot (and killed) right after the hydraulics stopped. Brilliant.

In the first episode of the season, we saw a pink teddy bear with one eye in Walt's pool. Obviously that didn't have anything to do with the episode, so it could be a clue or something about how the season is going to end. I could have sworn that we had seen that pink teddy bear before, maybe from the soon-to-be baby's room?

I love everything about the show. Amazing writing and acting.

Sunday's episode was a little slower than the first two of the new season, but still very good. I love this show.

Especially Walts. Jesse's was a little more flimsy. You'd think the police would have been watching his house a little more closely. If they were so interested in catching him, they would have had a car watching the house the whole time. Also, there was a good chance the meth head prostitute was going to flip and sell him out.

Walt's plan was brilliant though. It would have seemed credible to me.

The prostitute is a good egg, she had more to gain by lieing. Oh and Tucos turn at the police station was fucking nuts. Jessie's eyes bugged out of his head when he saw they brought him in but the OG fuck the police kept him safe. And then the old bastard rips the fucking world apart in his pants!

Just checked out the first episode of this last night (looking for a BSG replacement) and loved it. Walt going McGuyver on the drug dealers in the RV was badass.

Holy shit was this last episode intense. Following Jesse around on his Worst Day of His Life was brutal.

This show continues to floor me. Best show on TV by far. Plus, AMC has given the order for Season 3.

Yeah, last weeks was just so fucking depressing, I was glad to see some good happening this time.

I think Meth Mom is the Day Time Hooker on My Name is Earl, looks and sounds just like her. Couldn't find her on IMDB though, the cast list is incomplete.

Anyway, not the best episode this season, but still solid. It was pretty fucked up actually, hope Jesse gets away with it. And I'm always impressed by Walts' lying skills. He had a rough one to get out of.

Taking the money is definitely going to come back to haunt him.

Finally caught up to present. Breaking Bad is easily the best show on tv right now.

I think she was his gf at one point. But yeah, she's probably crawling with something.

Last nights episode had me hooked for every single bit of it. The desperation, Jessie fucking up and then science finally saving their ass. I mean, holy McGyver! Then the kick in the pants at the end, I can't wait to see where they go with it next week.

Christ, the new episode hasn't been upped on ANY of the usual places. Did the internet do too much Meth and forget it's responsibilities? fuck fuck shit. :(

I bought it on Amazon because I watch it on my super old laptop with my roommate and it has trouble with m4v files. It was a huge pain in the ass- it'll be easier if you only want to watch the file on one computer.

I heard that there's a possibility that someone may rip it tonight after a 1:30 re-airing so you may want to wait and see if that happens.

Definitely. I was expecting some crazy shit to go down with the Pollos Hermanos guy after seeing Walt's picture at the DEA. Wonder if the people in the body bags will end up being of any significance.

Skylar's speech was some fucking intense shit though.

At first I was a little disappointed, but now I'm even more interested since nothing I was thinking about happened. This really opens up some new possibilities.

Yeah I mean it's good that it's pretty open it just seems so incredibly unnecessary. Especially after alluding to it for the entire season. They could have completely eliminated the plane and ended with skyler leaving and it'd be exactly the same, I mean other than the whole "Walt caused the crash by letting Q's daughter die" thing. But I don't see how anything could really develop from that.

I liked that the big season long tease wasn't something stupid like the cartel finding out where Walt lives and him killing two people unrealistically.

The show always keeps you guessing. BTW anyone see the episode titles with the black and white teases at the beginning?

I'd call it a solid finale, it was an amazing season.

I find the fact that two planes collided in mid air, and it happens to be the Dad of the girl who Walt let die as the air traffic controller who fell down on the job, with debris falling into Walt's backyard to be just a tad unrealistic.

Aside from that last four minutes of the season, this show is the best one on television, hands down.

Season 3 starts March 21st!

I can't wait to see what they cook up for this season.

I was reading about this show, got interested, but ended up reading the whole plot synopsis on Wikipedia without really thinking about it. I need to stop doing that.

AMC is awesome between this and Mad Men.

Didn't like The Prisoner much, though.

AMC has two of the best shows on TV. I have high hopes for The Walking Dead series they're doing too with Frank Darabont writing.

Breaking Bad has the weirdest protagonist in the world. I love his slow seething twist from everyday dad to underworld hard ass. I always download this show in hi-def and watch a few back to back. I caught up this past summer so having to wait a week in between cliff hangers is going to be tough.

Walt letting the bitch die was the greatest thing ever on TV.

So happy this show is back.

Vince Gilligan basically said he wants to make Walt more and more unlikeable and see how long it takes for people to stop watching altogether

Lost is my #1 and Breaking Bad is my #2. I haven't watched Mad Men, but I've heard great things.

I'd have to guess that it would be your #3, its certainly up there with the best.

I'd probably put my favorite three shows on TV right now as #1 Breaking Bad, #2 Mad Men, #3 Lost - so we're not far off

Don't forget Dexter. That is #1, this is #2, and Lost can suck a fat one.

Dexter might not even be in the Top Ten for me anymore. I thought Seasons 1 and 2 were good. S3 was so bad that I didn't even watch S4.

The assembly scene was fucking beautiful. Walt trying to minimize what he had done by comparing it to other air disasters was a work of art.

The mexican bros didn't utter a single word and yet they said so much.

Season 4 was amazing. It stumbles here and there, but it was far and away an epic season. Lithgow is a brilliant actor and has changed the direction of the show.

Anyhoo, Breaking Bad had an intense season premiere. Such a good start, this season is going to be heart wrenching.

The direction was really impressive for last night's episode! The production was really high all over actually, fantastic editing and music choices. Best show on TV keeps up the hits.
