I really hate MS shit, but man do I respect Bill Gates. He's one of the few billionaires who does what billionaires should do - help create a better society.

i completely agree.
I've always thought that he, and Melinda in particular, are really okay people. Yeah they're filthy rich, but at least they are genuinely doing something with all their money. It's not sitting around in a fund waiting to go to their kids (who, from what I'm told, are being raised to earn their own money and not live off of daddy). Bono is always in-your-face political about his charity endeavors, which I suppose he has to be when dealing with AIDS and Africa, but I'm glad to see the Gates couple step up for this.
If I recall as well, half of his fortune is going to charities when he dies, while the other half goes to his family.
The question is, should what he's doing with his money now absolve him of the all the shady things he did to get it?
Umm, yes. After giving away the first billion I think he'd paid for his indulgences.
