Thinking about springing for a pair of these for when I'm riding the motorcycle:

Question: Is there anyone here who has any experience with Dr. Martens that are actually made in the UK vs the ones sold here in the States that are manufactured in China? Is there any significant difference in quality making it worth ponying up the extra lettuce for "real" Docs?
As far as I know, the only ones that were made in the UK are vintage - pre '98 (give or take a few years or so.) The modern ones, in my opinion, do not last as long nor age as well nor are quite as comfortable. I personally would comb eBay for an authentic pair of UK made ones from the 80s or 90s, you'll probably pay out a little bit more, but sometimes the prices are quite comparable - especially in men's sizes.

Bought a pair of these sneakers except the inside is white and beige pin-stripes (and the outside emblem is white). Also they're canvas, not cotton. I keep finding Fred Perry one's I like since I hate high-tops. I wear a size 9 1/2 - 10 though and apparently dudes in Britain have small feet. I sprayed the shit out of them with nylon protector coating. I hate white lacoste shoes before that were dirty and stained in under a week.
I'm starting to see the colour trend die out in men's fashion. A lot of it is going back to a charcoal / light grey. The only colour I'll see once in awhile is a light blue. Maybe dudes just aren't comfortable buying colour shit yet. Could just be happenstance at the lines I'm looking at, too.
Shoes are supposed to be stained.
They're shoes. They're on your feet.
True story, the one critique I got for my social media presentation was my shirt. Reviewer thought I should have warn a light blue or white button up and not a blue-blue button up.
Some people just don't think anything other than gray, black, white and light blue can be used in a professional setting.
Rebecca has a brand new pair of British made Docs from the mid 90's. Are they worth bank?
I see men wearing bright colors every single day. What are you on about?
Maintaining the shoes is what separates boys from men. We all have a pair of shitkickers (I have some ROUGH Chuck high-tops and some military boots for these occasions) but not all events should be treated with such terrible taste. Eventually we all have an event that requires well-kept shoes. It isn't even hard. I wrote a post in this very thread on how to maintain your footwear.
I went to court in Chuck Taylor's.
I saw Shyne go to court with a cocked ball cap and not give a shit when the judge asked him about it. I doubt you're that hard when facing a gun wrap.
