Maybe you should have stayed fat?
It's an H&M shirt. The problem with their shirts is that a medium may fit a bit too tight and a large is too big. I wouldn't mind mediums if they weren't so tight on the chest but they don't look so bad. It's just uncomfortable when I sit for a long time.
Anyway, it's cut thin so it doesn't look like a gut cover at all.

I have finally bought some new clothes recently. I got the following print tees:

Even though they spelled Gainesville wrong on the back, it's okay; it was definitely one of the best concerts that I have seen.
And some Levis 514s. I tried the 510s, but I just look way too awkward in super-skinny jeans. I tried to get the one with the least amount of lines and fading on them; I hate that stuff. The way I wear through jeans, they come naturally. Same with holes.
Also, I am in love with American Apparel shirts. I already have a few (including the rapcake) and they fit really nice and have awesome colors. I just bought five for less than $40 shipped online... beats $17/ea in-store.
I recently discovered that I can get AA clothing at cost. I will be taking advantage of this to replace my lost jogging jacket.
I ONLY wear my 510 jeans after dark. There are strictly for playing shows in. The 511's are a bit less vulgar. I'd recommend checking out some of those. It is VERY difficult to find jeans that aren't pre faded. I have a pair of dark navy 511's that rule the world.
You see, I tried on the 511s and wasn't too happy with them. Have the price of jeans gone up? I think the 514's were $38 "on sale." I might actually get the leg on these altered; it's annoying always having my cuffs rolled.
Also, it's damn hard to find smaller sizes. I discovered today with much joy that 30" waist jeans are comfortable; thankfully 30/30 are a little more common than 31/30.
Josh showed me the way of skinny jeans. They still fit kind of loose, but I'll be damned if I don't look sexy in them.
Have you ever tried on their XL shirts? Fucking tents, they are.
I have a few H and M shirts I bought years ago. I like how they fit, but the only ones in the southeast are in north Georgia.
Express small shirts, and most shirts in general, fit my boyfriend very well. I'm disgustingly jealous of his extreme ease in looking good in clothes with zero effort.
Express small? Does he weigh 70 pounds?
He's Asian. I've seen him. Anyone here can whoop his ass.
I wear smalls in any brand other than AA. Plenty of people can beat my ass I'm sure.

I couldn't not get this shirt...
That's pretty cute.
My dress came in and I look pretty good in it. I plan on wearing it this weekend so I will take a pic of it. The skirt had a tulip cut which is interesting and is kind love/hate. The thick heel shoes look awesome with it too. I also found a high-waisted pencil skirt that I couldn't fit into before that fits like a glove now. I need to wear that out too.
I bought some new sweat pants and a camo t-shirt (yes it has a wolf on it) from Costco yesterday. Takin' the lady out for a nice dinner tonight.
Paging TNL girls to the thread, what are some cute retro styles I could do with a chin-length bob? I put together an awesome modern 40s style outfit with the pencil skirt and I need something cool to do with my hair.
That sounds cool, are you looking for more glam or edgy? It's taking me forever to find pictures of the exact styles I'm thinking of.
This is pretty cute, I love the curly bobs.

Adding a headband would be pretty sweet...like setting it right behind your bangs, then gently sweep the bangs to the side and curl the rest of your hair in the back.
Like this, only not this because your hair will be longer. Just experiment with the headbands, I love them.

i think the first one would look better on animegirl, but both are super cute. a printed headband would be perfect though if you need to add some color.
edit: i like getting a vintage brooch or a giant clip on earring (which stays really well actually) to do something like this

TNLgirls should post a fashion show imo.
I have a friend who lives for 50's style clothing, pinups, hairstyles, everything. She was featured in the Plain dealer recently for her style which was kind of neat. She actually made me appreciate those styles which I use to think were lackluster and boring.
How do the TNL asian guys wear their hair?
I like that curly bob, I might try that one, but I have lots of cute headbands too. CRISIS
I rock out with usb drives around my neck.
2 Gig or nothing.
I'm getting corn rolls in my hair.
Me too.
I just bought this dress:

I also got this shirt:

I got some ripped black skinny jeans to go with it.
I'd love to rip that shirt off of you.
I fucking LOVE that shirt. is it from UO?
I like the piece work colour on it.
It's from 80s purple my other fav site to shop on:

Damn I love that shirt too. I need to chill out on buying clothes for awhile though. ;_;
I got the purple dress in today and it looks AWESOME. I love not being fat anymore.
Send pics via pm. Both with the dress on and the dress off.
I've just discovered Uniqlo. I love their accessories but for clothes they seem a bit overpriced. I'm probably going to pick up a shirt anyway and test it out. If it's any good I'll buy a few more but if not I'm sticking with H&M.
Uniqlo is aces but unless i travel across the country, it does nothing for me.
hmm....hopefully an H&M trip tomorrow. Mama needs a new pair of shoes.
They have some super cheap white sneakers. I can go for some to go with my linen suit. :o
do any of the girls (and I guess experimenting men) here ever buy vintage clothing? I have a small box of brand new women's clothing from the late 60s early 70s that I'd like to unload.
Pics and sizes pls. Rebecca is into that sort of thing.
sure, rebecca
you go tiger
pics pics pics pics will pay for shipping
alright. I'll put them up next time i'm at my storage unit.
Though, Sats I think you saw the stuff years ago and you said it was either too bright or too small.
I'm serious cheeks. send me the sizes and shit. There is a birthday coming up.
I bought a pair of black 511s for $9. They fit perfectly.
WHERE?!
Seriously, where? I wear 511s.
I just got pair for $18 at Kohls.
Kohl's, 80% of clearance rack. I don't know why, since all of the others were regular price. Unfortunately the cashier forgot to take off one of the ink tags so I can't wear them tomorrow, as I was hoping to.
I have a pair of 515's with a 38 waist (fits like a 36 or 34 actually) but super fucking tight legs if anyone is that large around the waist with toothpick legs, let me know, I don't need them. Dark wash and no mystery stains, $2 at Goodwill ftw.
Also, awesome Bengals shoes incoming today.
Bad news, I sat on my sunglasses and I hate shopping because of my large, german head.
EDIT: UPS Truck arrived, woman driver handed me my box with shoes, observe:
Hopefully wearing a Snugli doesn't make you look like this.
I bought a linen suit.
I like these shoes.
I just wore it Sunday. I'll post it up when I wear it again.
I may not like those boots anymore.
It's how you undress that counts.
I bought my first pair of "official" Chucks today.
http://www.jacksshoes.com/jacks/asse...KBPIHMAOAt.jpg
They replaced my beloved "white" Pumas that are so faded and dirty they're kind of disgusting.
I'm thinking about getting these shoes:

This is the dress I want to wear with it, I thought I should keep everything else simple to showcase the shoe:

Yeah or nay?
No.
Yeah Dyne is an expert when it comes to female fashion, however I must disagree with him and vote 'Yes'.
lol
The answer is Yes.
They're both unfortunate fashion choices.
He would prefer that you wear a garbage sack and jack boots.
The combo works. It's upscale for nightlife, yet you avoid traditional heels so it's a little more chic (which may also be a bad thing for functionality). It depends on the purse, too. Something small, leather and woven (or not woven, but something craft looking) could help tie things together.
And, of course, jewelery. You're on your own there. I don't accessorize well. I don't even wear watches.
Ok, TNLers that could give a shit/help. I have an internship with a no jeans/no sneakers policy but isn't SUPER formal/professional. This is a huge challenge for me.
I need some suggestions. Shoes are probably off-limits since I will only wear things with socks, which also makes the skirt thing awkward sometimes. I just feel really uncomfortable in most things. I'm awkwardly proportioned. My thighs are big and I have some butt, but I have very skinny legs otherwise, and I'm fairly short... My chest is way too big for shirts that are otherwise appropriately form-fitting. It makes modest shirts look slutty sometimes and I don't need that at the workplace.
So far, I've got two decent, basic kitten heels (black, brown), black Editors slacks from Express on sale (can only be worn with heels due to me being short) and a few basic tops. My mother got me a nice knee-length grey/black/purple streak skirt with a matching purple tank top to wear under another solid shirt. Otherwise, I've got a few thrift store shirts that aren't too bad (some expensive brands that fit well) and a cute brown and tan skirt that I need flats for.
If anyone's got ideas for something to look for, I'm all ears.
Just use heels and sandals. Once you wear them enough, you'll get used to the idea.
As for tops, you can get some nice ones at H&M or Forever 21 that aren't slutty.
Seriously, grow up and get used to heels without socks. I used to wear baggy jeans just because the idea of skinny jeans didn't make sense to me. Then I picked up two pairs and used them at least three times a week. A couple of months afterward, I bought extra pairs of skinny jeans and can't wear any other type.
Seriously. Razor used to feel all self consious when he went out wearing heels and a skirt, now he feels so natural and womanly that he can't stand not wearing heels.
This isn't a grow up and get used to them thing. I can walk in heels. I need socks because my feet sweat uncontrollably because my nervous system sucks. We've been over this shit, in this thread, and I said to not even bother suggesting shoes.
I tried a lot of things at H&M and Forever 21. Tank tops usually hang so low they look very inappropriate (and things with shelf bras built into them are an instant no-go due to how low they pull shirts on my chest) and those babydoll ones make me look fat/pregnant since they hand off of my chest too far. A lot of the kinds with the ribbons that are supposed to tie under the chest or cut to look like that/conform nicely are similarly just pulling necklines way too low. Plain button-down nice shirts at H&M all had the problem of fitting my chest, but then having the shoulders or waist with excess fabric since I'm small built otherwise.
I don't know what kind of shit to look for that can accommodate this better.
Show some titty. Women have them. We all know this. It's only inappropriate if they're hanging out. Women at my job do it and no one ever complains.
Jeans, American Apparel T's and these shoes...

I'm a simple man these days.
Nomi, you should just get half-socks to wear under shoes if its that big of a problem. Footed tights would work just as well.
Also, seamless toesocks are a godsend for sweaty feet, and they're incredibly comfortable.
I think we need to see you in one of these shirts that hang too low on you so we can tell if they really do look slutty or if you're just being neurotic as usual.
Also, titties.
nomi, i have the same big chest problem. get a variety of different colored tanks (usually can be found on sale at places like forever 21) and wear them under shirts, esp button up ones that fit everywhere but your chest.
Hey guys! I'm also starting an internship soon (in a week, actually), so I need to prepare for "business casual." Does five collared shirts, two or three pairs of slacks, two pairs of shoes, and two belts sound like enough to cover it? And socks, lots of socks. I haven't bought any dressy clothes for years, so nothing I have really fits. Since I'm a relatively slim guy, what brands should I keep an eye out for? Keep in mind that I'm not in a big city and don't have millions to burn.
Nick, I still remember your advice for shirts: Always all cotton.
H&M. You'll find what you need.
Yes, though I would go with more shirts and only one pair of shoes and one belt, personally. You don't want to fall into the "that's your Monday shirt" trap, as that's the only item people might remember. As far as brands go, something like Dockers is always safe and relatively inexpensive.
I wear my Ramones and AC/DC tees to work more than anything else and I'm remembered by it. I don't give a fuck.
And Tones, move out of the sticks.
