God bless deep V necks.
Because this thread got bumped...about a week ago I ordered a bunch of stuff from American Apparel - this fantastic mesh bra that feels like wearing nothing at all is the highlight of the bunch. Got a sheer black deep V, a couple of nail polish colors, and a free bikini top for ordering over a certain amount! I really have to continuously hand it to AmApp for making awesome summer clothing.
Someone on our floor was throwing away this badass girl's jacket from the 1970's, my ex picked it up when she was hanging out for a day, and I snagged it from her. Fucking love it, that's about it for new clothes for me from the past year though =(. Being poor and all that.
I wore one of my ex-girlfriends jackets once as a joke because she told me not to. The seems ripped apart at the shoulders. I felt like the Hulk. The end.
Got some Prana 3/4 climbing shorts and liked them so much I ordered another pair in a different color.

This is a good service for some of you guys who have trouble dressing well. This is many of you. Don't deny it.
all of Korian's posts remind me Wesley Willis lyrics
Back to Walmart with you!
Don't even acknowledge his posts. It's the only way to win.
I would like to get a flannel or two that fit me like my western shirts. I also want some thick rimmed glasses. Some longsleeves that aren't flannel or western but don't look all GQ would be cool. I've also gotta start thinking about a decent winter jacket and some shoes that can handle the rain. I consider a denim jacket more every day. I say I would like these things because I have no idea when I'm going to be able to afford them.
Are you morphing into a hipster?
You're in a band... can't you find some nice young lady to purchase these things for you?
I need a winter jacket this year too.
what's wrong with a V-neck tee under a V-neck sweater? You're supposed to match collars, you neanderthal.
I wear regular neck tees under v neck sweaters, because the world is not ready for my chest hair.
What?
honestly fella, hit up a few thrift stores. It might take a little bit of searching, but I guarantee you will find them at at a really nominal fee. If you're looking for smaller, tighter fit - look in the women's sections as well. (I don't know what size you usually wear, but usually XS-S is hard to find at a thrift store in the men's dept, because they move it to the women's section.)
I'd rather pay extra for a better fitting flannel. Not smaller but actually tailored to a man's body. J. Crew has some nice ones. For frames use Warby Parker.
Of course you'd pay extra. All you spend your money on is vodka, clothes and fighting games.
finding flannel or any button up that fits worth a shit at a thrift store really isn't easy.
Why is it so hard to find pants that fit?
It's as if I'm some sort of anatomical anomaly at a size of 32-34.
I'd need to either get fatter or shorter to find anything made for my physique.
I can't find pants that fit I'm shorter that Burgundy, well maybe not? I shop the thrift stores but we have bed bug problems and I can't take a risk.
One day when I'm visited the parents, I need to go to my dad's shop and get his old flannel work shirts from the late 60s. Assuming the bugs haven't gotten them yet.
aaaaaah, yeah. I forgot these guys don't sew. My best male friend and I used to go to thrift stores and get a bunch of flannels and cowboy shirts to alter so they fit all hipstery. If for some reason anyone would like to know how to alter a too-big flannel shirt themselves, I can post a tutorial.
My tailor > errr one. The man makes me look delicious.
Send back what you don't want. Essentially, if you get one whole outfit it's going to cost you maybe $300-400. But I'd send back all the jeans. Levi's 510s are the best bang for your buck and you get them for about $45~ a pair. Fuck paying $200 for jeans. I've only seen one pair worth anywhere close to that price and that's because it made my ex's ass look exquisite.
I get that but it seems to me when you're directly dealing with a stylist to pick out outfits for you that's the sort of thing you want to build up and continue over a long period of time to keep consistency and personal growth, so it's going to end up being a lot of money one way or the other. You get what you pay for and all, but I have maybe $100 spending cash each month.Quote:

It is hard to get good at it... but that is most things.
Save up? I don't know how to get you more money but I can tell you clothes this much are sometimes built to last. I know Varvatos does some sweet shit. You can get lower priced shit that ain't bad and is fashionable but you still may need to tailor it. Uniqlo up in here.
Ok, here's my tutorial.

I'm getting my monroe this month.
As soon as the surgery healing's done I'm piercing my right nostril.
Do you like microdermals?
I don't know what that means.
Has anyone tried anything for bags under the eye? I got a Nivea eye roller thing today to try to work on mine. It has coenzyme in it.
Does it help with the bags on your chin?
Implanted piercings using anchors under the skin. It's not legal in all states.

It's about to be cold again. I would prefer to get one jacket to accommodate just about every situation. How does This one look? Florida doesn't get too crazy cold, but I always find myself unprepared for the high-humidity spell from January - late March.
Feels like you'd get your ass kicked in Florida wearing that. Probably Boston you could do it.
I think that Gainesville is the anomaly of the South. But your advice is duly noted.
I would also not recommend wearing a scarf in Florida.
Scarves are stupid unless you're in the artic.
I have a peacoat
the black kids from the delta liked to harass me something fierce for it. I think the exact words were "white mother fucker looks like a god damn mortician in that shit"
they were 100% class
I wear my lilac dress shirt all over the place because it looks damn good on me. Half of the people that see me IRL probably think that I'm gay.
I wear a scarf when I'm on the motorcycle in the cold (like, freezing or below). Old man winter will grab your neck with his icy fingers and that shit is annoying. I don't bother with it otherwise.
I do long sleeved tshirt under an ex military camo coat.
30 degrees while walking is also much different than 30 degrees at 70 mph.
Ho ho ho.
Head shaving is not always a choice. You're heading for it too Cheeks.
Yup, I shave mine almost out of necessity. I've let it grow back, but it just reminds me why I shaved it.
One day I may just rock an Andy Warhol wig, that day is not today.
I'm just going to pull a Klaus Nomi
I wear scarves all the time in any weather. They look awesome, add color and shape when I am otherwise bored with my outfit.
Oh so you're that guy wearing a scarf in the summer...
I was under the impression that a man never wears an "outfit." Have the times changed?
Anthony looks like a European woman from the 60s, so everyone forgives him.
I'm not entirely sure why people would have to forgive me for looking awesome.
Oh aren't you just a peach?

Fe yeah it's also pretty rad, but slightly different.

I've been trying to dress up more, for random little reasons. Excuse to wear my socks. Hair is longer. And that dress is awesome.
I like the one with your stuffy.
I need some recommendation for motorcycle boots. Money really isn't a factor but I don't want to spend more than $100~ if I can help it. Any recommendations?
Man this is fantastic! I am not a bad dresser but this could save me a shit load of time. And I'm not a huge fan of spending an entire day shopping except for sneakers. I'm actually going to sign up so long as I can set my budget. EDIT: Fuck, stupid Canada. Well I'll have to coordinate with my friends in Chicago to ship them to me.
All I've heard from friends is that you want a boot dedicated to biking the same way you wouldn't expect boots for skiing to do much else except help you ski.
Less than $100 is a hard price point to meet for motorcycle boots. There are some "riding shoes" which are less than $100, and aren't hideous, but they will not offer you much more protection than a regular pair of shoes. Puma has among the best looking boots available, but they are expensive, and I don't know well they crash. A guy I know swears by full-length boots because he broke both of his feet in a crash when he was wearing tennis shoes.
If I purchase a pair of TOMS shoes, do I instantly sprout dreads?
You know the answer.
I have a pair that I never wear - that said, if you're gonna buy that sort of thing, get a pair of Sanuks with the fuzz inside. I wear mine nearly every day.

Those don't look like motorcycle boots.
Those, cut-off camo shorts, a metal band shirt, and a beanie are my everyday wear.
That's actually how I've gone to every meeting and interview for The Owl, now that I think about it.
$100 is about the minimum you can spend on motorcycle boots. These look straight boss. This might better suit your style. These are waterproof, which you'll want if you plan to ride in rain.
I recently bought an awesome lamb-leather jacket while in Turkey. Waiting for the weather to cool down so I can wear it and look awesome.
And is American Apparel the only American-made clothing that looks decent and is priced a'ight? Their shit is getting a bit too L.A. for my tastes.
The second ones are much better.
Go go Power Ranger.
The first ones sure. The second ones aren't so bad. They're boots I'd wear with suits except with a rubber sole instead of leather.
Yeah, I really like that first pair. Would've bought them if they were waterproof. I need waterproof.
My noob ass isn't looking to be riding in any rain for a minute, so I'm cool with not for now.
Riding in the rain isn't so bad, apart from sucking all of the joy out of motorcycling. Florida is great at going from sunny to biblical thunderstorm in the time it takes to think, "Hey, those clouds look pretty dark over there."
Markryan, I bought a pair of TCX X-five's early in the summer for about $120. They are truly waterproof, as in I stepped ankle deep in a puddle, and didn't feel a drop. I tried to think of every excuse possible to spend more than twice the money for a pair of Pumas that did the same thing, but couldn't justify the expense.
Any other shot of 'em show's they're matte black against black (breathable) mesh, so I'm totally fine with them.
You've not actually tried on a lot of motorcycle boots yet, have you?
