I think I m getting sick.
We were actually kind of slow the past two days but the restaurant gods labeled me as the prime target last night. Tonight was kind of slow too but I got real busy pretty late (right as soon as I came down with a migraine). I don't really get bad headaches but I have vision problems when I first get the migraine and I was trying to juggle fifteen checks and I couldn't see a damn thing on my check board. Fortunately another one of the guys had nothing going on and came over to run checks and I just ran assist for twenty minutes.
Next week is when all hell breaks loose. Some nights we'll approach close to 1,000 covers.
I can't imagine this level of slowness. We usually do at least $95,000/wk and probably around $60,000 in food sales.
Well, we got slammed today, and were shorthanded as well, which made everything that much more awesome. I think I made 43 pizzas from 11:30 to 2:45, then our 'party girls' walked out on us around 12:30 and my manager gave a 2 day notice, so today was interesting to say the least.
We've actually got a fairly large line, with five different stations and usually 6 or 7 guys for all of that. To be honest we could use another guy to make things a little better. We have the ability to take on large crowds but an 80 menus out hit can still really hurt depending on how it comes in.
