The same shit happens at the repair shop, they just don't tell you about it.
I like the idea of the guy with a broken down car that doesnt shift up "fixing" shit for someone else.
Why are Today's Deals still Yesterday's Deals? It's like 11 am.
Deals switch at 1, noob.
The new development is that the daily deals stay live even longer than the holiday deals, until the next night i think.
They switch at 1pm EST, so 12 for Mzo
His siestas are getting chorter and chorter.
not knowing how to work on a car is nothing to be proud of. Nor is being too lazy to do it.
If she had taken it to the shop, they would have pulled the multi switch unit, thrown it away and installed a new $120 unit. Then charged her 80 for taking out the three screws that hold the plastic over the steering column and the 1 screw that holds in the multiswitch.
Or they would have done the same thing I did, claimed to have replaced it and just pocketed the 120.
Even with my fuck up, she saves 150. The new brass circlet was 6.50 and the GM style steering wheel puller is 15.00. I'll probably just charge her 28.50 for the labor.
Don't forget that they would have broken the brass piece too and charged her $60 to fix it.
transmission issues are a lot more trouble than dash related electrical issues. To work on a transmission you need lots of special equipment. To fix a multswitch you just need a screw driver and some contact cleaner. If you can fix a NES cartridge connector, you can fix the multiswitch of a grand am.
