Yar, we pirates care not what day it is!
AYE MATIE!
sometimes I really talk like that
I also say Mundee :C
I'm taking an English class and I can't take the instructor seriously. She has made a big deal about late assignments (don't bother turning in late work as it will be discarded), but then doesn't have the module available for us until after the assignment is due. So she extends the deadline. It's okay for her to be late, but not us. She also makes dumb mistakes like there/their and pluralizing verbs for singular subjects. I've found a couple mistakes in everything she has presented to us. When I asked if it were ok to have a proof reader (I know I can, no one will know but me; but I want to be legit), she stated that my work is to be my own so having a proofreader would be akin to cheating. That's just horseshit. Every writer on the planet is a fake because they have editors? Probably to my own detriment, I already copied, corrected, and submitted a paragraph she wrote and added a note that "Hey, maybe we all could use a proofreader. :)" She responded with, "I'm just human and was in a rush."
It pisses me off. How are you going to grade me on shit you yourself can't handle.
I really hate this class.
Oh, the best part is that there has been at least three times where she has spouted off her resume of professional writing.
It sounds like she shouldn't even be teaching middle school English, much less an adult level course. Is she a grad student or something?
Maybe she could use a swift punch to the ovaries.
I don't think she's a grad student. She's admittedly old.
She's full of shit on proof reading. Most universities have a writing center for students to go to so that they can get help on their writing. And do in class proofing in groups for intro writing.
lol, my room mate is an english teacher and he is thrilled when students take that much initiative. He can barely get them to start on papers the day before shit is due, let alone find a proofreader.
She sounds like an idiot, sorry dude. You should always read up on teachers before signing up for a class, it makes a huge difference.
I guess if you're limited to specific time slots maybe there isn't much choice.
Lesson learned.
