A LOT!
while I've known for weeks, today's my official last day at work.
I was told that I could enroll in COBRA to keep my sweet health insurance for $100/month. Just yesterday I was told, our bad, it's $400+/mo.
Was also told that I would be direct deposited a severance deal. Now I'm being told its a check to deposit.
Also found that a few freelance jobs that sounded all excited to have me on board backed down (think the price scared em). So I'm down to one gig, one maybe gig, and nothing back on several freelance/design jobs I put in for last week.
Your prices do kind of suck.
But we've been over this. so whatever.
So you think I should get paid less than what an entry-level, just out of college designer gets? Even though I dumped a bunch of money into my education and have over 8 years experience in what I do? Sure, I'll just charge like it's a minimum wage job for a flat rate while a client continues the project with infinite revisions. Grand idea.
it boggles my mind - if you pay shit for a job like plumbing, roofing, clothing, etc/ you expect to get what you pay for. When it comes to design, it's like people should be happy to get non-livable wages. I mean, ITS FUN WORK SO YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY IM EVEN PAYING YOU!
Too bad being happy doesn't pay my fucking bills, and won't be enough for me to stomach your bullshit, piss-poor attitude towards work & quality
The difference is that plumbing, roofing, and clothing(?) are all real jobs.
You can't expect someone to take doodling seriously.
Why can't kedawa be my teacher?
