I'm not saying you're wrong. Its just funny as you get older you've started to make some of the arguments I've made in the past, but you won't admit it looking back or moving forward.

I'm pretty sure you can still reply to posts on Facebook. You're trying too hard.
He's got a blog.
self updating, I hear
The future.
I just had to call 911 on an attempted suicide. Some homeless dude was taking a ride on the Hell City Bus (freaking the fuck out, Wesley Willis style) and was stabbing himself with a broken rum bottle. FUCK.
oh jesus that sounds traumatic
I didn't think to much of it at first, crazy homeless people in Olympia aren't out of the ordinary. But then he started hitting himself in the head with a broken bottle....
Good to know.
Egg salad burps.
I knew it was a bad idea, but every couple of years I forget just how bad of an idea it is.
Oof.
I burned my dick ironing naked and now I can't masturbate.
Not with that attitude you can't.
Fucking retail.
Dude walks in asks about a used wii, buys it along with an extra controller and a couple of games. I make sure to emphasize that the 90 day warranty is exchange only as I've had that argument enough to know that no cash back must be spelled out. He says ok, and leaves. I get a call 45 minutes later "I was just in there and bought a wii, it doesn't work and neither does the extra controller. I'm bringing them back and I want my money back."
Argument ensues.
I test every piece of hardware before it goes out for sale. I test every accessory before it goes out for sale. I'll sit here for 10 minutes deleting every dumb save off of PS2 and Gamecube memory cards (since there's no mass deletion tool) to ensure that if a person buys a memory card to save something they're playing right now, they can do so without having to turn off the game (had that happen once).
Those of you that follow my page know that I go at shit with toothbrushes and q-tips. I look at selling used hardware the way dealerships look at selling used cars. I do my best to make everything look as new as possible. It's disgusting to go into a Game Stop and see some nasty fucking controller marked $3 less than a new one, yet who hasn't seen it? I take pride in my shit.
So this dude calling me, telling my shit doesn't work and he doesn't want an exchange he wants his money back sends warning signals that he's trying to get over on me. If you wanted a system and games an hour ago, why would you all of a sudden want none of it? I try to run a great store on the complete up and up and assholes come at me like I'm a fucking shyster. Had a dude return a PS3 that "would load games when it wanted and you'd have to fight to get the discs to eject." He didn't want another PS3 though, oh no. He wanted to used the credit on Wii U stuff. I allowed it since it was a lateral swap. Tested the system, it worked fine. Sold the system. It's been three months and it hasn't come back.
I know this is what I signed on for, but that doesn't mean it can't bother me that people are so fucking shitty about stupid stuff.
I demand to know the end of this story when this guy comes back with the Wii. I know a guy who works at a game store had some problems like that but he got smart and started cataloging the serial #s for people who would try and swap their broken systems for the ones they just bought from him. I was wondering if you do the same.
You can't put a small mark on your products so you know if you're getting a ringer back?
I print the serial numbers on the receipt. But that doesn't stop determined assholes from swapping cases. Even systems with warranty stickers can be swapped if you have a hair dryer.
You're spending all this time with the systems beforehand, why not something they can't remove so easily?
Am I to mark every component of every system?
Dab of white-out on a screw? You're the one getting ripped off here.
Retail gonna retail.
Glad I get to sit upstairs and only deal with dumb retail employees at this point, but I know the pain.
Do they make black light markers? Draw dicks on the pcb.
All this confederate flag talk.
1. 9 people died because of a crazy racist zealot. Instead of doing anything or having a discussion on racism, we're flooding my feed with talk of cotton that may be evil flying over a building. 9 people are dead and we're talking about cloth making some people feel bad, and how that makes other people feel bad because they like to look at that cotton.
2. I'm having to suffer 100s of people that don't understand history or people they don't agree with on both sides post dumb shit.
3. I'm going to be laying half dead one day as rabid feral 10 year olds naw my bones as the earth dies and think to myself "how'd we get here? Oh yeah, wasting our lives arguing dumb shit. I might have a child eating my foot as I slip in out of consciousness but hey at least we did/didnot leave that flag up"
We used to mark inside the case on PS1s we tested at VGD just in case someone tried to return it. That way the idiots didn't know it was marked but we could throw it back at them if they tried to return their old broken system.
But that was largely because those original PS1s were piles of shit that broke left and right.
And I'd go into how the flag coming down is the right move and how it never should have been there in the first place but I know for a fact Buttcheeks is wrong and will want to fight about how wrong he is.
Regardless of what some may people may or may not feel about it, it's really no different than a swastika. Freedom of speech means freedom of speech. Anyone that wants to fly that flag should go right ahead and do it. However, it's also come to symbolize something more than a piece of cotton. It's almost like the vintage over retro thing. While to a few people it stands for one thing, to far many more it stands for something else, and based on that popular connotation, there's no rational reason for any United States government property to fly that flag, especially when it represented a faction that wanted to leave the U.S.
I'd actually agree. They put that flag up during the civil rights movement. Most likely to be racist as the 60s was when racists really started to use it as part of their rhetoric.
There are places for it, but not on a government building that works with the Federal Government.
You know how you guys get upset with me for saying extreme exaggerated statements?
The battle flag is not like the swastika. It was not the flag of the confederate government. It is not the symbol of a regime or political movement. It is closer to the Iron Cross as used by the German military, which they still use.
Yes, it was used by bigoted evil racists in the 60's. But a minority of evil people shouldn't define a flag. That kind of thinking leads to the US flag being evil because of the evil men that have flown it. Or the British flag. You know, empire building? Have you forgotten how the slaves got here in the first place?
Yellerdog is like the swastika.
And what was the reason for these Battles they used the flag for? Oh yeah, keeping black people as slaves. Yeah, it's a symbol of racism.
And don't even start with how the civil war wasn't about slavery. I was a history student, I know there is a lot that went into the civil war and it wasn't JUST about slaverly.
Except those bigoted evil racists actually did define the flag. Your comparison would only make sense if the people who flew the US flag did so to expressly voice their approval of Indian genocide, the slave trade, etc. As in, "people tried to stop this and we flew this flag to protest it."
So are you all ok with flag burning?
Personally I am. Because I understand that symbols are just symbols and that they represent different things to different people. That to the person that burns the flag, at that moment in time it represents something very specific that they are taking a stance against. I also understand that the old conservatives that want them beat for doing so, the flag represents something different.
Do the people that say, point blank, "the confederate battle flag is just like the swastika" disagree with my take on burning US flags?
If you disagree, and you see both with a definitive meaning, well shit, I don't have much to discuss with you. We don't view life the same way.
Or if you disagree and you see the US flag as something that means many things, but the confederate battle flag as one thing, hello dissonance!
I can look at someone who happily adopts the swastika or stars and bars and say "that person is probably a piece of shit." They may have some specific non-evil reason for adopting that symbology that doesn't relate to the evil they are normally associated with, but quite frankly proving that is up to them.
I know that there are lots of good ol' boys everywhere that see the CSA flag and just associate it with their image of "Southern culture" and don't really think anything of it beyond that, but that makes them a dumbass.
I don't understand why someone would have a problem with flag burning.
On what grounds to you say this? The men that fought under those flags were not inherently more racist than anyone else in any other part of the country. Yes, many were fooled by the power and wealth structure of slave owning at that time, but are they to blame or the rich plantation owners that kept public school out of southern states? And are they worse than northerners that were often just as racist? Even Lincoln entered the war thinking that black people were less than whites. And what of the other men? The one's fighting just to protect their families and land from what they saw or were told was an invading army?
You actually think that the south was just one big mass of evil racists during the civil war? And that the north was a big mass of good doers? Do you really know so little about American history? Or just people in general? You think anything is every this binary?
What I mean is that, for example, the South Carolina legislature decided to start flying the stars and bars not in 1866 to honor their dead soldiers or whatever but in the 1960s, to protest the passage of the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, etc. They made that flag about racism and Jim Crow. They chose to do this.
I think people should be able to wear whatever piece of shit racist thing they want, it just needs to not be on state and federal buildings.
I'd agree with that. People have the right to be assholes. Government buildings, not so much.
I think there is a gray area if it is part if the building. Like say a concentration camp. Then it should be kept as a reminder.
Yes. And I do not hate all Germans or even all the Germans from the 1940s. It would not bother me if their grandchildren had pictures or scraps of their granddad's unit insignia, metals, or iron cross. I personally wouldn't care if they put them in their yard, though I might find it morbid and disrespectful to men that died on all sides. I would also advise them against it because it might hurt someone's feelings or invite criticism for their deceased family members.
The act of adorning your yard sends a pretty clear message you're proud of it. Those symbols are marking identifiers for those ideals. Sure you can put them up but you are definitely a piece of shit.
That monster alien ass kicking car from Aliens lasted until 2000, then they scrapped it.

I really do not understand people that hate money. Like it sets their skin of fire. That was a really cool car. :/
It's not a car!
Alienasskickatron then
So apparently the US government liked to test mustard gas on minorities during ww2. They were developing a plan to gas japan and kill about 5 million people

So this is weird. Checking DS game prices on Ebay I've run across a dozen or so common games with ended sales for insane prices by Canadian sellers. Can't see anyone actually paying $300 for a $5 game, maybe a means of mining feedback or money transferring?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Puzzle-de-Ha...p2047675.l2557
I saw something crazy like this yesterday but for NES , and noticed that next to the price it said "1 sold." When I clicked it, instead of the $299.99 for a common as dirt game it said it sold for $5.
Clicking the "1 sold" in the auction you shared shows it sold for $1.83.
Who knows what the fuck. Probably a feedback scam. Stupid high price with a make offer option or something.

Fuck the Suits. Three ww2 churchhills, cut up because someone in marketing couldn't be bothered.
I want to buy a copy of Man in the High Castle to read. But all the cheap or new copies have a hideous and pointless cover on them.
:I
Make your own!
You could be the owner of the only steelbook copy in existence.
It's a really ugly cover, sats.
It looks like someone shoved a camera into a bulls dick and took a picture.
Make a book cover out of a paper bag like elementary school. Be creative.
yay, glitter!
The herpes of art supplies!
I just want to say that steam punk still bothers me. It bothers me on a philosophical and moral level.
We all cut the silliness of cyberpunk slack. Why? Because none of us really know how future tech will work. We (the writers) just makes rational guesses based on what we have today.
We fucking know what we had in the age of steam. You can buy books and learn how to build little steam trains. You could build a mechanical steam spider if you wanted. Or a steam powered skateboard. Instead, no learning, just glue broken pocket watches to nurf guns and glue painted beads to leather belts.
You now what steam punk really is? Victorian Slutaween. An excuse to wear a little mix of leather, lingerie and Victorian dresses. If you stay true to the times, you can't dress like a slut. Or build a steam powered gun, because you know, we just had normal guns.
Tesla was steampunk you know.
I saw some steam punk kids at a show one time. It was outdoors in July in the middle of the day. They were wearing top hats and leather and goggles...and sandals with socks. They looked regretful.
Your theory confuses me because these dudes are exactly what I thought steam punk kids looked like. Are half-naked women more representative?
Isn't steampunk kinda specifically about pseudo science? Like, more about the aesthetics of things being steam powered but not really caring about any of the actual science most of the time?
not to an engineer.
You guys will be eating crow when I perfect my phlogiston cannon.
Its a case of a cool setting for books and other art being ruined by idiots.
Idiots on etsy.
Why? Kids wearing Ramones shirts for fashion's sake don't make me like the Ramones any less.
Why? Kids painting their toys brown doesn't make me like steam trains less.
Are we already at the point where cheeks is arguing against his original argument?
I'm just poking at josh for making a meaningless counter point.
Then Star Wars, Star Trek, and anything else within the realm of science fiction is stupid as well, apparently. Or is it just steam in particular that bothers you?
I made it clear in the original post why future or cyberpunk gets allowances that steampunk does not. I can't make you read it.
I was responding to the post above mine. C your way out, Cheeks.
what does your comment have to do with etsy?
I'm not telling you.
It's about saturation, I suppose.
That's a great way to give a lot of other people control over you. They mean nothing IMO
Well, it's not a maxim I live by. I mean, Tool fans are awful, but I still like the band. In the instance of steampunk stuff, it was just more than I could stand.
:/
They say they are. Last album wasn't great, but lateralus is still fantastic.
Didn't 10,000 days come out like 10,000 days ago?
They've been working on a new album for awhile. It'll be out eventually.
Too bad
Apprently they were caught up in some lawsuit for way too long and weren't recording anything.
Tool and APC shows were some of the worst shows I've ever been to.
It seems to go either way. It's either transcendent, or just garbage. Might have to do with juuuuust the right amount/kind of drugs taken.
I saw them twice touring on Lateralus and it was transcendent.
The next two times not so much. Still good though. Seemed like the show was taken over by Alex Grey's garbage psychadelic art whereas the older shows were much closer to Adam Jones' videos.
Yeah, I've seen them 3 times but it was all in the late 90s early 2000s pre APC days and those shows were incredible.
I slept most of saturday. Then slept 10 hors Saturday night / sunday.
Now I can't fucking sleep. So I won't get 8 hours going into work this week so the cycle will fucking start all over again of not getting enough sleep before slowly getting ground down and then sleep the weekend away.
Mother fucker.
Rough.
I moved closer to work and found myself sleeping 8 hours every night. Sounds strange but I didn't feel like me so I've begun going to bed later so I get 6-7 and I feel good again. No idea why but I function better slightly tired.
This humidity.
I live in a desert for a reason.
I may have to call out tomorrow, I have a heat rash. This would be the 5th consecutive 12-14 hour shift in 100 degrees and insane humidity.
Box Fan + Tray of Ice Water = your life improves 200%. I lived in Florida and Georgia for yearrrrrrs, this is a valid solution. Go spend $20 at Wallgreens and fix yourself up.
It's humid as hell in Nor Cal right now, I went out and bought a fan. Did the ice water thing, even the cat likes it.

I live in Georgia and attempted something like this last year when the A/C gave out. It wasn't that helpful!
