I drove to campus tonight to go running. My mind was elsewhere, and when I threw my wallet in the glove compartment, my key went with it. Whoops. Thankfully there are about 50 towing companies in town, so I had someone at my car within 10 minutes, and I had enough cash on me, so I didn't have to go back to the dispatch center to use my card.
Tonight I scrapped my car on a pole and put a dent in it at my nearest 7-Eleven. At that same 7-Eleven, I've had a hit and run happen to me while I was inside the car with my friends a few years back (they got away) and I've had my car hit by a guy exiting the parking lot on the back passenger side as I turned onto the street causing my car to spin out earlier this year; my car was later deemed salvaged (I did sue and should expect some money from this). I will never go to that 7-Eleven in my life ever again. Worst luck ever.
My sister's ex-boyfriend and my niece's father talked to me yesterday for the first time in three years. I see him all the time but purposely do not talk to him after he physically assaulted my sister and decided to live off of mommy and daddy until they moved to Cali this year. We were at my friend's show yesterday, he got drunk, and decided to talk to me. It almost ruined my night. We used to be good friends about ten years ago but the last three years were brutal after I almost stabbed him and he almost beat me with a dumbbell.
I am still mad about it.

My girlfriend suffers from a something that makes her occasionally pass out. The doctors believe it's migraines that pinch down on her motor cortex. This last week things have been bad, she's had them occur almost every night instead of just once or twice a month. Last weekend she passed out while standing up and bashed her head into the floor. Yesterday we went to the neurologist and he prescribed a new medicine, and then in the evening she got it worse than ever before. Her entire body was in pain, she was passing out constantly every couple minutes, she could barely move, and at one point she had apparently tuned out the world as she didn't respond to me and just kept muttering, "I just want everything to go away," over and over. I eventually called an ambulance because she couldn't make it to my car, and by the time I got to see her (about 45 minutes later) everything from the waist down and her hands were paralyzed.
Throughout the night she slowly regained her ability to move everything and she was up and walking just fine by the time they let her go around midnight. She appears to be fine again for the moment, but that's pretty consistent and doesn't seem to mean anything for the next occurrence. When they told her to make a call the next morning and schedule a follow up since they're still unsure what's causing them she told me she wasn't going to. Despite the fact that this issue is getting worse and worse she believes that if she ignores it it will go away.
This week has been grand.
That sucks. It doesn't sound like she got a CT Scan/X-ray/MRI of her head to figure out exactly what's up. If that's the case, she should probably get one before any doctor prescribes medicine to treat her condition.
I was diagnosed with migraines when I was 13 and had to go to Johns Hopkins 3 times before they could figure out the correct diagnosis. Not to scare you any more, but her condition sounds pretty serious - almost tumor-like. Either that, or she gets the worst migraines known to mankind. She should get that shit taken care of ASAP. Ignorning it won't make it any better.
She got them a couple months ago and then again last night. Nothing's showing up, as far as tests go she looks perfectly fine. No tumors, no internal bleeding, not showing signs of cluster headaches, no optic nerve swelling... the only thing we could find last night that's out of the ordinary is that her left eye sees the color red darker than her right eye does.Quote:

Yeah, we're seeing what we can do. She was diagnosed both by a personal doctor in her tiny home town back in PA and then also over here at the much larger Cleveland Clinic so it seems to be consistent, but they might've also traded info between the two places.Quote:

About the chiropractic thing, most docs will give you a free consultation. At the very least if her insurance won't cover an adjustment, it may be good just to go talk to one and get a non-md's opinion. My pops is a chiropractor and he offers a cash plan for those who aren't covered by insurance. First visit is $75, subsequent visits $40, or pre-paid 5 visits for $150. Check around, one near you may do the same sort of thing.
If you want some names in the Cleveland Clinic for neurologists let me know. I've seen a few and my father would offer a suggestion if needed.Quote:

I think my #1 pet peeve is people who tap me on the shoulder while I'm listening to music in public and start asking me questions/how I am/what's up, the usual filler preferrably avoidable questions.
Each morning I try to listen to about one, maybe two albums on my way to work. I say two because I can wake up early and scheme listening to one while getting ready but usually its one. Anyways, 3 weekdays out of 5, there is always someone from my job that will stop me and start chit chatting, forcing me to take my headphones off.
I haaaaaaaate it, but I'm too nice to tell them to buzz off. Usually because it's someone telling me their problems...which is cool ya know, but uh, I'd like to listen to more FlyingLotus instead of listening to you. :@
(If it's someone not genuinely nice or harmless though, I usually tell them to go away)
I'm really really heavily medicated at the moment and some deaf dude called me talking to me through an interpreter about trying to book recording time. It was fucking surreal.
I hope this guy is the modern day Beethoven but im betting its just some guy thats going to come in and go UNNNLUUUOOOOGH! into the microphone.
