Official NWA:TNA Discussion Thread

Well, the first ever NWA:TNA show came and went last night, and although the beginning of the show (The 6 man) was unquestionably stronger than the 2nd half, it was a promising beginning, and a great way to see some old favorites, such as K-Kwik, and "The Worlds Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock. NWA:TNA is gonna run every Wednesday night on PPV for 10 bucks from 8pm to 10pm for at least 52 weeks. If they do well, we can look forward to the show being renewed indefinately. My brother and I saw the PPV last night. It looks promising indeed. I particularly liked the classic Crockett Promotions feel mixed with amazing acrobatic wrestling. There were moves in that six-man tag that I had rarely if ever seen performed outside Fire Pro. Who would have thought the Flying Elvises would have been that impressive? McMahon and the WWE audience would collectively crap themselves if a match like that took place on Raw.

I was mainly interested in seeing what Scott Hall was up to, and I was a bit disappointed in his lethargic performance in the Battle Royale. Why would you try an Outsider Edge with your opponent's back to the ropes - let alone in that kind of match? (:

The ugly women and country singers are tolerable, as long as they stay on the periphery.

Now, more than ever, I want to see that Flying Elvises six-man match.

How was the commentary, BTW? I heard that Mike Tennay was good, but Don West and Ed Ferrera were terrible.

Was anyone else suprised at just how good that lightweights match was? Some of those moves were brutal.

I might order next week's to see the X champion crowned. I bet there will be some memorable moments.

(Funny, it used to be the only television I watched was the occasional Simpsons episode with Star Trek: TNG here and there. Now I am watching wrestling again. It is just so much fun to watch with the right group.)

I don't know why, but I get a kick out of seeing little people killing each other for my entertainment. ;) What can I say, I dig midgets in wrestling. :)

Well, back in the day in WCW matches like that happened nearly every week, and NOONE cared, and the announcers, instead of calling the match, would go on about what dastardly deed Hulk Hogan had recently commited. Even in the WWE when we had the amazing Essa Rios, no one seemed to care about him either.
